Gold Digging Trip
This summer, I found a place where experts on the Internet claimed a lot of gold is stored. Therefore, my friend Tom and I planned to go there. It was located in the USA. We picked up some equipment included a compass, a map and a spade in our bag and took an airplane to get there.
When we got there, we did some measurements and calculated the approximate site where the most gold might be. We felt so excited and we started to dig. After about half an hour, we already felt tired and thirsty. Also, it was too hot for us to work in a mine shaft and the work was laborious. So, we intended to take a rest.
When we started to dig again, we found a gigantic rock obstructing the direction which we intended to mine. As a result, we used some explosive devices to bomb the enormous rock. When the bomb exploded, the whole mine collapsed. We were trapped!
The fear of death was spreading in the mine shaft. At that moment, words couldn’t express ours sorrow. Tom started to cry. “We will…We will…die here.” Tom choked. Nevertheless, there is always a solution for every difficulty. I suddenly remembered that we had brought a satellite telephone in order to cope with an unexpected emergency. We were so delighted to know that we had prepared for the worst. Then we called the police for rescue as soon as we could. While we were waiting for the rescue, we had a pleasant conversation. After waiting and waiting, we were rescued. How fortunate we were.
In the end, we went to the hospital for a physical check and we were both fine. After that, I said farewell to my friend and bought an airline ticket. When I came back home, my family gave me a big hug. From this trip, I grasped the significance of team spirit.
