As part of your student counsellor training course, the school counsellor, Ms. Lam, wants you to write a letter of advice to another student.
Dear Connie,
I am Chris Wong, a student counsellor trainee. I am sorry to hear your weight problem. I am writing to give you some advice to solve your problems.
First, about your problem of eating a lot of junk food, I suggest you to eat more fresh food such as apple, orange, vegetable, and avoid eating deep-fried food and fast food.
Second, about your problem of snacking, I think you might have got a lot of stress. When you are studying for tests and doing your homework, you do snacking to relieve your stress. In fact, you can eat fruits instead of man-made snacks like chocolate and crisps. Fruits can help you keep fit. Also, you can try to eat an apple before eating meal because apples can make you feel a bit full, so you will eat less in your regular meal and you can reduce your weight in the end.
Third, about your problem of doing exercise, I suggest you doing some individual sports, such as jogging, cycling and skipping. I hope you will not give up easily. Although it is not an easy job, you will feel good when you insist and see your slender body.
Last, you can set up a timetable to keep yourself doing exercise every day.
I hope that my suggestions can help you. If you have further questions, please feel free to let me know.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Wong
