Great effort this week! You applied a WHOLE BUNCH of new ideas without any final runs and aced it when it counted. Game was great. Attitudes were great. Competition was even better. Thanks to everyone who has helped suss out the final details, especially Mr Williams and Karson on the sound stuff. We can't do it without you. 

Judges' recordings are up for you to listen. Recordings. Listen when you have time and make a mental list of places you need to apply more personal responsibility. 

Congrats to Miss Lewis who had a great Rhythm X audition and earned a call back! Superstar. And also, we missed you. 

Tuesday we will address dynamics and a few visual spots. We will have a short sectional time - this is it. Your music should be note perfect. Thursday we start at 5:00 for pictures. You will get your uniform on and report to the field. We will do both individual shots as well as our group formation. After pictures, we will get out of uniform and hold rehearsal. Rehearsal will end at 8:00 that night.

Another Friday with no football game? Is it even fall? 

Tomorrow is our first competition of the season. You guys worked your butts off last night and it shows! Let's keep that momentum going for the rest of the season.

Jon, Karson and Lizzie will help load the truck at 8:15. Everyone else will report to the band room to get your uniforms and final preparations. We will load the instruments on the truck from here and take uniforms with us on the bus. 

Wear something that will be comfortable under your bibbers and will still look nice when you take them off. Long black socks! No visible jewelry. Hair off your collar. Bring money for concessions. We will eat lunch there after we perform. Families are welcome to attend; tickets are sold at the gate. 

Please remember that every school and musician worked as hard as us (or harder!) and deserve our respect. Some schools will wow us and others will love to hear our cheering just for making it on the field. Stay aware of your staff and leaders as there is a lot of competition etiquette that you will be learn as we go. Behavioral stakes and expectations go up as soon as you put that uniform on. Hold your heads high!

We made it! Back in school and ready for another great year. Rehearsals will continue on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9 while we finish our show. We have somehow gotten a bit behind and very lax in our rehearsal ettiquette. I know that will be fixed this week! Be ready to finish our drill and begin to polish and add visuals.

Spring trip info. We are traveling to Nashville on April 8-12. If you are interested be sure to sign up with Peak Travel so you can start making payments. The concert band and jazz bands will perform but marching band members are eligible to travel as well. 

SCORE Band is resurrected this year. We will start rehearsing on TUESDAYS during 5a once the regular SCORE rotation starts. Be prepared and quick to start - this is a very short period and we have LOTS to do! Everyone in concert band is expected to be at all SCORE rehearsals. This is the music department's office hours. No other teacher should be trying to use this time. We will also have one or two evening rehearsals before each concert.
