August Update #1 - 8/11/19
We made it to Band Camp!
Everything we have talked about previously applies especially to this week - stay hydrated, eat good, get a lot of sleep, have all of your gear and be ready to go each day at 9 AM. Band Camp will be held from 9 AM-6 PM each day this week at the ECLC - we will have access to inside to eat lunch, use restrooms and store instruments. Use what you learned from Mini Camp to make this week a huge success, and remember that it is the most important week of our season.
Spirit Week Days
Monday - Disney Day
Tuesday - Section Day
Wednesday - Meme/Vine Day
Thursday - Class Colors (skit performances at lunch)
Please make sure to have sunscreen, extra food (lunch is each day from 12-1 PM; we will have another short meal break at 4 PM), and a hat, alongside all of your required equipment. We will have a large water cooler on site to refill jugs. I have placed the Survival Guide at the bottom of this update for your review as well.
After the last day of Band Camp, Leah Strawderman is hosting a band party at her house - be there! There will be a lake to swim/kayak, etc. in (the best way to cool down) RSVP at this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409054dafa62fa5f58-band1
Schedule Changes
For this season, we have officially been declared in Tournament of Bands as a Group IA band. This brings a few changes/confirmations to our schedule:
Atlantic Coast Championships is confirmed to be on 10/26 at West Shore Stadium in Camp Hill, PA. Families, start planning your trip to support us at this final competition now!
Remove the Alloway Halloween Parade and rain date (10/27) from your calendars - we will no longer be attending this parade because we will be attending ACC's (ACC's are 10/26)
Rehearsals on 10/29 and 10/31 are cancelled
TShirt Design Contest
Designs are due this Friday by 11:59 PM! Refer to my student email for details.
Booster Paperwork
Parents have received an email from Mrs. Nowmos regarding the forms and fees that must be completed and paid for the 2019 season. A small fraction of these have been turned in - these need to be completed ASAP! If you have any questions, contact woodstownbandboosters@gmail.com.
