September Update #1 - 9/2/19
Welcome to the beginning of the true weekly updates! From here until November, we are full speed ahead. Now that summer vacation has ended, we expect to have 100% attendance at every rehearsal and event. Keep the team moving forward - no excuses.
Moving forward, these updates will typically be sent out on either Sundays or by early Monday afternoon at the latest and will always contain the weekly schedule among many other important details.

A reminder on how Away Football Games will be working this year - we will not be performing our show at away games and will be functioning as a pep band. Because of this, Color Guard and Front Ensemble will not be attending away games. HOWEVER, everyone should always plan to stay after school for sectional rehearsals on all game days.
An additional notice that uniform fittings will be taking place during Tuesday and Thursday rehearsals this week. We still are in need of parent volunteers. Please contact Mrs. Nowmos at nowmos.c@woodstown.org if you are able to help.
Lastly, be sure to closely review the entire fall schedule to plan around our events.
Gateway Competition Tickets
Our performance at Gateway Regional High School's competition entitled "Autumn Thunder" is less than two weeks away on Saturday, 9/14! We currently have tickets on sale for $10, adults and children. For all competitions, when tickets are purchased through us rather than at the gate, we earn 100% of the ticket sales (we earn 0% from gate sales) - please make sure to buy tickets through us, as these are one of our biggest fundraisers. Gateway tickets are now available for purchase through Mrs. Nowmos at any time - bring your money to rehearsal! (Members do not need to purchase tickets. Tickets are for anyone wanting to spectate at the performance.)
Parents, friends, etc., plan to attend as many competitions as possible to support our band. These students work so incredibly hard and there is nothing more rewarding than having massive sounds of cheers, supportive air/candy grams, and a post performance hug and talk for these students. This is all part of what makes a Marching Band fall season amazing!

Tshirt Design Contest Winners
Congratulations to the winnerS of our Tshirt Design Contest, Alex Spencer Jr. (senior, hornline) and Samantha Williams (freshman, FE)! Both designs were amazing and inspiring, so aspects from each were combined to create the design that will be worn on the back of our tour shirts this year. The current draft of the design can be found below. An additional thank you to all who submitted designs - picking was not at all an easy task.

September Update #2 - 9/8/19
It's a SHOW WEEK!! Prepare for all of our efforts since March to quickly become very much worth it. We have a very important schedule to follow this week. Saturday's schedule is designed with the idea of comfort in mind to give us plenty of time to figure things out for the first time. Tuesday will be all about finishing Movement 3 and Thursday will be all about incorporating the prop for the first time as well as various other bits of staging and choreographing.

Schedule Changes
The home football game against Gateway originally scheduled for 9/27 has been moved to 10/4. Please plan accordingly.
Playoff dates - The following are all tentative dates depending on the football team's progression in the post season. Please be available for all - specifics will be available on the weeks of the events.
Round 1 - 11/8 OR 11/9
Round 2 - 11/15 OR 11/16
Championships - 11/22 OR 11/23
Note - band photos will be taken after school on 9/20 before the away game at Deptford. Individual photos begin in uniform at 2:45. Attendance required.
Competition Tickets
Make sure we sell out of tickets for this weekend's show! Find Mr. Massaro at any point to get them - remember, we make the money when the tickets are purchased through the band. Pay with cash or check made to Woodstown Band Boosters. $10, adults and children.
House Prop Sneak Peek
If you made it to the bottom of this update, a sneak peak of our house prop can be found below :) A HUGE thank you to Mr. Startare for designing and constructing the prop! Also, tshirts will likely be coming in this week or early next week, which there is also a preview of.
September Update #3 - 9/15/19
With a very successful first competition under our belts, we are now ready to move into week 3! This season is flying by and it is so important for everybody to make the most of every second. The hours spent with the band family are truly irreplaceable and will leave memories that will last forever. With a big week coming up, we all need to prepare ourselves for the intense schedules. Get plenty of rest and continue to make time for school work. Here we go!

I have not yet received Clearview tickets and do not have an amount for pricing yet, however, I will send out Reminds as soon as this information is available! Please plan to buy tickets through the band.
Parent Help Needed
Parents, families, friends, we need your help! The concession stand at Friday night home games still needs volunteer workers and we still need more hands on our Pit Crew for each competition. September Update #4 - 9/23/19
Congratulations to the WHSMB on receiving a 5th place finish on Saturday with a score of 77.910. The band is currently ranked in 14th place out of all 36 bands currently competing in group 1A, which is the highest rank we have ever held during our school's time participating in TOB!
This week is a moderately simple but VERY important week!

Parent Preview
Our second annual Parent Preview show is an opportunity for our band to have a "home show" performance and for parents, family and friends to enjoy watching our band get better in action at rehearsal. Please join us for our afternoon ensemble rehearsal which will conclude with a performance run through of Tempest at 3:45. It is recommended you arrive to watch at 3 PM, but rehearsal will be open all day. Last year's preview show was a huge success - see you there!

Tickets/Extras
I am happy to announce that this past weekend, we SOLD OUT of tickets for Clearview's show! I hope to do the same with our remaining shows moving forward. Tickets for Atlantic Coast Championships will be on sale at Saturday's parent preview at a discounted rate - $20 for adults, $15 for students/seniors. The deadline to purchase tickets for ACC's is Thursday, 10/10. I will have pricing details out about the tickets for the Absegami show and Regional Championships as soon as I receive this information. Additionally, donations to the band are kindly accepted at the preview show.
Lastly, pre-orders will be accepted for custom Woodstown drinking cups that we will be selling for $15 - all proceeds support the band! Picture below.
