30 September 23

So last weekend ended on a downer. I felt horrible about it all weekend and I can't wait to see you guys again so we can turn things around. This week, I need to see certain people and sections and talk about ways we can fix what's broken and move ahead. I would like to start Tuesday with the Battery. We have a lot to work on. 

Competition this weekend!

We will meet at the school at 8:30 Saturday Morning. We will rehearse on the field until 9:30, brushing up on visuals. We will load the trailer at 9:30, head to the school to dress and be on the bus by 10:00. Our warm-up time starts at 10:45 at Millville. We perform at 12:30. It's going to be great weather all week UNTIL... Friday and Saturday. Watch for updates. 

Friday night is Band Night. All instrumentalists from 5th grade through high school will join us after Take Me Home to play Rickety-Rockety on the field. It needs to be memorized. This is a BIG DEAL to the Littles. Make them feel important and show them a great time. They are the future of our band. 

25 September 23

Another week without a competition! I promise it will be worth it when we finally get out there on the field. Coming up this week:

Tuesday and Thursday will both be inside, due to weather. We may start outside tonight depending on rain. We will add visuals and prepare for the pep rally and parade. 

Pep Rally  Friday the 29th. We will dismiss everyone to the band room at 12:45. We will march through the halls. We will play a small version of our field show. SCVT students are excused from school that afternoon to come to Woodstown. 

Parade - we will wear uniforms and play Louie Louie

Football Game - will probably be raining. More info as I know more. 

October 7th Millville NJMBDA Show - we will perform at 12:30. A more detailed time line coming soon!

20 September 23 - Midweek update!

So, the forecast looks terrible for Saturday. Washington Township will do everything it can to NOT cancel. If it's just light showers, we will still perform outside. There will be a tent for electronics. 

If it's too bad to be outside, we will perform inside the PAC. It's a great opportunity to perform on an amazing stage. We will do a standstill and guard will spin. Keep checking for updates. I will let you know when and if there are changes. 

18 September 23

It's a show week! Schedule for this week:

Tuesday 19th - We will begin inside today to get fitted for uniforms. We will work stands tunes. Drumline will go first so they can move to the field to continue working on the cadence. PLEASE BE THERE ON TIME. 

Thursday 21 - We will start at the field with a mock load up. We need to practice loading to be sure everything fits and we know the best way to get it ready to travel. 

Friday 22 - Remember, picture day has been rescheduled to Oct 6 (also Band Night). THIS. IS SENIOR NIGHT. Plan for your families to be there to escort you on the field. SENIORS, FILL OUT THIS FORM. 

We are staying after school on Friday. The Boosters have offered to feed us dinner. We will practice some more music inside, dress and then move to the field at 6:20. 

Saturday 23 - COMPETITION DAY (check last week's update for reminders)

5:00 arrive to field for practice

6:45 load trailer, bus

7:00 travel to Washington Township

7:30 arrive and warm up in the lot

9:15 move to gate

9:30 perform

9:45 host school

10:00 awards

11:00 (approximately) return to field

Happy Back to School. I hope you all enjoyed your first days back. 

Lots of new info again:

Practice this week and next. Finish Part 6 and start adding visuals and cleaning. 

We will start inside on September 19th so we can get fitted for uniforms. Wear something you try your uniform over (like sports shorts and a tee.)

September 22 - We will stay after school this day. We will have a photographer here for pictures. See the Boosters info for details. THIS IS ALSO SENIOR NIGHT. We will honor all football, cheer and band seniors. Have your family here that night to escort you on the field when you are introduced. Mr Adams will be sharing a Google Form shortly. 

September 23 - Washington Township Competition. This is an evening event; our start time is 9:30 PM. We will rehearse at school that day from 5:00 PM - 6:45 PM. We will load the bus and leave by 7:00. Arrive at 7:30, dress, and warm up to be at the gate by 9:15. 

Reminders for competitions:

Wear black shorts, long black socks and your Take Me Home Tee Shirt. You should have your shoes and ballcaps packed in your uniform bags. 

No nail polish and long hair must be up off your collar. 

Bring money for concessions. The best way for us to support the host school is to purchase food. 

No one leaves the stands without permission. Do not enter or exit the stands while another band is performing. 

Always walk in pairs. No one goes anywhere alone in uniform. No one RUNS in uniform. Wear your uniform as instructed. Show Pride. 

Always stack gear. Always fold your uniform coat when not being worn. You will be shown how.

We cheer other bands and generally show superior sportsmanship to all. 

We do NOT watch the band on the field as we wait to take the field. Turn your backs until it's our time to enter the field. 

If a judge is in your way, do not change your path - they will move. However, try to avoid a collision.
