We are almost ready to go back to school. Can you believe it? This summer was one for the books. We gained new staff and really learned a lot from them. Our show is looking to be really entertaining and I can't wait for audiences to see it.
If you haven't turned in your fees and sizes forms, DO IT NOW. They are late.
Tuesday night - Parent Preview. We will warm up at 6 on the practice field and then move over to the stands for our family and friends to see what we have been working on. I will explain that the show isn't finished and that we just learned part 5 last week. Do the best you can! The Boosters will hand out new shirts tonight so you have them for Thursday.
Thursday night - Back to School Block Party and Scrimmage. We will meet at 5:00 on Thursday so we can parade over to the Party at Shoemaker School. This is your reminder to PRACTICE September. Wear your new gray band shirt and black athletic shorts. After we attend the Block Party, we will play in the stands for the scrimmage. If the scrimmage is cancelled, we will rehearse until 8:00 instead.
Next week? Helloooooooo September!

Next week we will be presenting a Parent Preview on Tuesday during our rehearsal. It will be our first time in the stadium! Exciting. (It's ok that the show isn't finished. Very few marching bands have a full show before school starts. Some don't finish until October!) Parents can stay after they drop you off and the Boosters will feed them while we warm up and then we will Take the Field.
We still have a lot to do before then so be prepared to help out. We have to still finish getting all our gear for Can Can and will need help moving things from the school. Thursday we will finish drill for Part 5 and try to add music. We will continue to clean Part 1 and 2. We are adding visuals already! You guys look great.
On Thursday (29th) we will meet at 5:00 instead of 6:00 so we can march over to Shoemaker School for the Back to School Block Party. We will play September and wear our new gray band shirts and black athletic shorts. Don't' forget marching sneakers. After the party, we will come back to the stadium for the football scrimmage. We are not performing our field show that night. We are playing stands tunes and cheering our heads off for the new coach and our Wolverines. You are dismissed when the game is over.
The following people are still the only names on the approved roster. Please check with the nurse to see what might be wrong with your application if yours is missing.

Congrats on an AMAZING week of band camp. You learned so much and I can't wait to share this years' show with our community. You guys are in for a great season.
Back to work tonight. From here forward, we have FULL BAND on BOTH Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9. I understand conflicts - it's still summer! But please be sure to be at the rehearsals you are available for so we can continue to learn our show. If you have an unavoidable conflict, let me know and fill out the conflict form.
If you are submitting a design for our show shirts, please have that ready for tonight. We will make the decision soon so we can get our shirts before our shows.
SOME OF YOU HAVE STILL NOT COMPLETED THE PHYSICAL PROCESS. If you have questions, see me tonight!
We will be working on adding music to parts 1-4 and some stands tunes tonight. Have your stands tunes available.
Our next performances are on August 29. We will parade to the Back to School Block Party (September) and then sit in the stands for the football scrimmage. We will play our stands tunes that night but NOT perform our field show.
If the weather is permitting, we will meet outside for all rehearsals unless I announce a change. See you on the field!
