9/28/22

Saturday - away vs Salem. It looks like rain. If it is raining we will NOT go to the away game. Watch your Remind app for updates. If we DO go, we will meet at the school at 10:30 and board the bus at 10:45. 

There has been a change in the schedule for the ACC competition. TOB had a change of venue which changed our date. We will now be performing on NOVEMBER 5th at Hershey Stadium instead of November 12th. We don't yet have a time, but it will be between 11 and 4 during the day. Please check your calendars and let me know if anyone has a conflict by Thursday. I need to let them know if we are still coming. 

Keep practicing at home. (or START practicing at home!) Stamina is a concern at this point in the season. We need to work on details and you need to have the chops to, productively, get through a rehearsal. PLAY EVERYDAY. 

We will work on fixing the phasing or tears that we keep having in Part 1 on Thursday as well as some drill issues. Keep going over the new tempo change in Part 1. We need to build new muscle memory. Go over the visuals we added as well so we don't have to reteach.

Congratulations on a great first competition at Williamstown this weekend! I am super proud of all of you and I can't wait to see where we go from here! I had an exhausting but really fun day. I love your enthusiasm and drive to be better. Thank you especially to the Boosters and everyone who helped with unloading, moving and loading gear. The bigger the band, the bigger the job and you all help us accomplish that!

Thank you also to Jordan, Natalee, Brandon and Ella for helping with the instrument demonstration at Shoemaker Monday morning. The kids loved it!

SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK:

Tuesday - marching band 6-9

Thursday - marching band 6-9

Friday - Away game vs Glassboro. We will NOT wear uniforms. You can wear your show shirts and jeans and CAPS! We will play in the stands only. We are still sorting out how to get the gear to the stadium. I will give you more details soon. Meet at 4:30 in the band room to learn another new stand tune. We will return around 10:00PM.

Saturday - Competition at Pitman. We march at 3:30. Awards are at 6:45. We will rehearse on our field starting at 10:00AM this day. We will load the truck and bus from 12:15-1:15.

Lots of new information this week! I hope you had a great first week back to school and enjoyed the first home football game of the season!  The crowd loved your show and we will only get better and better! We have a lot to add this week so be sure to be at rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday.

We have our first Competition on Saturday, Sept 17. We will be performing at 5:00. There are tickets available through the Boosters. Please try to buy your tickets through them as we keep the proceeds that way. Check your email from Ms Williams for details!

Friday - Home game vs Deptford. We will NOT stay after school this day. Please arrive at 4:30 so we can play through a new stands tune before dressing and parading to the field. Consider this performance a 'dress rehearsal' for the next day. 

Saturday - 12:00 brush up practice on the field

1:45 Parent preview/final run - invite your families!

2:00 pack and load truck at field

2:30 load bus at school

3:30 arrive for warm-ups

5:00 perform

5:30 watch 4A and Open Class bands

8:30 Awards and return to school
