Just a reminder that we are finished up with our rehearsals for the fall and that there is no rehearsal this Thursday, Oct. 22. Thanks to all for your great effort at rehearsals the past few weeks!
Even though our fall events will be finished after this week, please keep an eye out for Marching Band Remind messages and emails from Mrs. Nowmos or Mr. Ludlam regarding future band events; we have some upcoming fundraisers (see below), and we still hope to schedule band photos, spring rehearsals/clinics, and a banquet if possible later in the school year, but we need to see what the future holds regarding scheduling for school events.
Please also check Remind for info about the football game this Friday, October 23. We will need to meet at the main stadium gates for tickets. We will once again wear Woodstown spirit wear or orange/blue for the game (no uniforms). Seniors, don't forget that Senior Night is this Friday (so make sure your parents/family members who might be escorting you know to come)!
We will also have the show t-shirts (from the show we never performed :-) but at least we will have a memory of learning the music!) at the game for you this Friday. A few people still owe money for the t-shirts; please give this to Mrs. Nowmos at the game ($12/shirt--cash or check made to Woodstown Band Boosters). If you are participating in band virtually and ordered a shirt please email Mrs. Nowmos at nowmos.c@woodstown.org to arrange pickup.
We will be launching our next fundraiser, Fun Pasta, beginning Monday, October 26. The fundraiser will run through November 20. The catalog for this sale includes over 100 different fun pasta shapes as well as soup and mac & cheese kits and whole meal kits--most items are $6.50-$8.00, and they would make great holiday gifts! This fundraiser will be entirely online as the coupon book sale was --you can set up a sales page with a link to share with family and friends, or even download an app to keep track of sales, and products will be shipped directly to your customers. A separate email will be sent out this coming weekend with details on how to set up your fundraising page. Proceeds from this sale will go towards the general band fund; the band will earn 40% of all sales. Participation in fundraisers is always optional, but the more people who participate, the better it is for our band program overall as it allows to cover expenses that are not covered by the school budget such as staffing, transportation, and the band banquet. (And it's especially important this year, as we were unable to run the football concession stand, which usually funds the majority of our band program expenses--we need to make sure we have enough for our expenses next year too!)
We will also have a Paypal donation fund drive coming up beginning in December. If any students have a talent or interest in helping to create fliers, posters, or other promotional materials to post around town, or if anyone knows of local businesses that would be willing to hang up fliers for us, please let Mrs. Nowmos know ASAP.
Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you this Thursday!
