Welcome new member Kenny Irokwe! Kenny will be choosing an instrument this week.
We have one more practice for the Parade next week. Things were really improving last week! Keep up the good work! We will be working this week to improve endurance and playing/moving coordination.
We will continue working Part 1, HttVarsity, 7, BBop, SSB, LLouie, Shenandoah, LGBlue and adding Don't Stop Believing and The Alma Mater. You should all have a flip folder started with these pieces in it. (I know we are short on flip book pages - they are ordered and coming!) These are YOUR responsibility, but I am happy to print anything you need at any time! If you would like to just play your music digitally, this company sells phone lyres you can use: https://mobilelyre.com/ Most college bands seem to use them now.
I have started new Drive folders organized by instrument so you don't have to search through every song in the drive. They are located here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QdXTCZTRpIYLa5smW5cF9fXr854F8wGK?usp=sharing
If you don't have a white Woodstown Band tee shirt, see a staff member or student leader. You need it for Monday!
On Monday we will meet at 8:30 and walk to East Millbrook to line up by 9:00. The parade starts at 10 and we are in front. We will get picked up by a bus at the park and return to school with our gear. We need two people to carry our banner (band family siblings are great for this or Front Ensemble members with nothing to play.) We will also need a couple of family members to walk along with water and first aid kit. See Mrs. Williams if you can help. Update: I believe Edwin and Crit will be carrying the banner.
As always, if you have a conflict, see Ms Sheridan AND use this form to document your absence: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeI5bukWybmlzwT0dJkcQInHSkKjGy83O24MnW0-uMLHWHQKA/viewform?usp=sf_link
I am planning a BIG CLOSET CLEANOUT on July 7th and will need your help. Anyone able to help in the afternoon that day, please let Ms Sheridan know.
Next year is an overnight trip for the music department. If your family is looking for more information on this, planning is already underway. Check out this video for our preliminary meeting: https://youtu.be/4sBZlqZLM-A The Marching Band will not be performing as an ensemble but you are all welcome to play with the concert band, even if it doesn't work in your class schedule and you work independently on your music. We will have evening rehearsals to prepare in the early spring.
Schedule for the week:
Thursday 6/30 6-9 Parade practice
Monday 7/4 Parade! Meet at school at 8:30.
