8/18/22

We have submitted our final numbers for this season and we are officially a Class 2-A band! Congratulations on our continued growth! We are JUST over the cut-off so anyone missing a competition will really affect our score. PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE ADDED ALL THE DATES TO YOUR CALENDAR! They are all clearly marked on the Woodstown Band Calendar. 

The Atlantic Coast Championships opened up for registration this week. We are planning to attend. THE DATE IS NOVEMBER 12. We will travel to Harrisburg to compete with all the other bands in our division. I had to wait to add this to the calendar because we needed our class to be determined first. This was NOT on the original calendar and was just added. BE SURE TO ADD IT!

We have finished learning dots for PART II. This week and next we will be learning PART III. Keep working on music at home. BRING AND USE your dot books. Everyone should have them on their body at all time when on the field. 

Part III drill has been adjusted to include those that missed band camp so there are new dots in the DRIVE. I also have copies to hand out Thursday. 

Let's keep attendance conflicts down when possible. I try to be understanding about having to miss rehearsals, but it really slows down learning when we have to keep reteaching and readjusting. 

Also, try to use the chain of command when we are on the field. If a question can be answered by someone other than staff, ask them instead. If your question or idea doesn't directly impact what we are currently learning, save it until the end. I love hearing your ideas and input, but I need to focus on the drill when we are on the field.

Band Camp 2022 is in the books! Congrats on getting a lot done despite the really hot days. We have about 1/3 of the drill learned and Part 1 sounds AMAZING! We still have a few people to plug into their dots so we will be reviewing quite a bit as well as moving forward with music and drill. 

Thank you to ALL THE BOOSTERS and our staff who helped make this a great and fun week. We really appreciate all the help and all the treats! Everything you do is noticed and appreciated! 

No practice on Tuesday this week. Take night to play through your music and work on Part III notes. We have a lot of work to do to make that the most impressive ballad with the most awesome impact moment! Part IV is in your folders. 

WE WILL HAVE PRACTICE ON THURSDAY 6-9. 

Congratulations to Sammi Williams whose tee shirt design will be on our show shirts again this year. Super cute and I can't wait for you all to see them. 

We have decided against the Septemberfest parade on 9/10. I feel preparing would take time away from our competition prep for the following weekend.

We need every single body on the field. If you commit to the next couple of months, I promise you will appreciate the teamwork and memories that we are building. We need YOU! Stay healthy and wrap Andrew in bubble wrap please. 

Some of you have asked about Olympic Conference and South Jersey auditions this year already. I love your enthusiasm. I will have selections before school starts and we will be promoting this much more than in the past.
