Assignment 1.2: My Dream Poster
Purpose: Everyone has dreams about his or her future. Self-advocacy skills can make these happen. The hopes and dreams for the future should be the driving force to develop good self-advocacy skills.
Instructions: Use a variety of sources (magazines, drawings, internet, google, slides, photos…) to create a collage (or another way to show learning: google slides, computer app) to show where you see yourself in 5 years or 10 years after you graduate. You must include the following (although you may add more if you like!)
What career do you see yourself in?
What kind of house would you like to own or place to live?
What are your plans for family…living with friends; having a spouse (wife, husband, or partner); how many children, pets…
What do you plan to do for leisure/recreation/hobbies? Where in the community do you like to spend time?
Type of transportation will you use? (Walk, bike, drive, bus, rideshare)
What kind of vehicle do you want to drive, if you plan to drive?
You will need to present your poster (slides or way to present) to the class, briefly telling us what your dreams for the future are. You can either use pictures or describe in detail by writing a description on the poster. You must label everything on your poster, and you must have a title included somewhere on the poster. Your name can either be on the front or on the back. You will be graded on the poster using the following guidelines (you must hand this sheet in with your poster):
