Assignment 8.1: Building a Resume
Purpose: During your high school years you will start to build a resume for your current and future job searches. You may want to make a “resume portfolio” or a “resume file”. This is a way to keep the different documents or information that can show your strengths, skills and work-related experiences that are listed in the resume. This evidence can be pictures, certificates, letters of recommendations, or lists of volunteer experiences, former work experiences and extracurricular activities. Whatever you choose, this “resume portfolio” or “resume file” should be adaptable so that it can be unique for each job interview.
Instruction: There are many tools to use for keeping this information for building a resume. The first to consider is Xello “Goals and Plans”. If you do not have this available, meet with your case manager and consider other tools such as: Google Sites, Google Folders, Weebly, digital file or hard copies in a binder.
