Purpose: As a student you need to understand and be able to share the accommodations and modifications needed to succeed in different environments.
Instructions:
Part A:
View “Introduction to Accommodations” PowerPoint
Research any unknown words and add to your vocabulary sheet.
Part B:
Use the Google Slides information, Accommodation vs Modification Worksheet and I-9 from your current IEP or list of your own current accommodations and modifications as a reference for discussion and reflection. Follow up with creating your own accommodation card.

How are your accommodations or modifications different now than in elementary school?
What accommodations or modifications will be realistic in your future?
What could you share at your IEP meeting about what you need for accommodations or modifications to be successful and reach your postsecondary goals?
Accommodation Cards:
Create your own accommodation card or other way to share your needs for accommodations or modifications. Use rubric as a guide.
Choose someone to practice sharing these with, i.e. teacher, parents, school counselor.
