Part A: Preparing for a Mock Interview
Purpose: In order for individuals with disabilities to feel comfortable in a job interview, it is necessary to prepare for the interview. There are many ways to prepare for an interview and the more a person prepares the better the chances of a successful interview
Instructions: Preparing for an interview.
Research the business
Check the Internet for a website for the business.
Ask employees from the business about their work.
Conduct an informational interview with the business.
Ask friends, family or others in the community about the business.
Review good interviewing tips from Assignment 8.7.
Write up five questions that you think the business representatives will ask you and prepare an answer for them.
Revise your resume to reflect skills you have that are relevant to the business
Request a mock (practice) job interview for a particular business, supported employment provider or community rehabilitation provider from your instructor, Job Center representative, parent, counselor or anyone else who you feel has had some experience with job interviews.

Part B: Evaluating Mock Interview
Purpose: A mock(Practice) interview can provide a great deal of information about an individual’s interview skills. However, to fully develop interviewing skills each mock interview should be evaluated by the person or someone who can help improve your interviewing skills.
Instructions: Request a mock job interview from your instructor, Job Center representative, parent, counselor or anyone else who you feel has had some experience with job interviews. Use the business you prepared for in Part A. Have the mock interview recorded and evaluate your interviewing skills using the Interview Skills Rubric.
