HALL B :: SPIRITUAL ART

Hall B is dedicated to spiritual art. Since the dawn of time, the destiny of art has been linked to that of human spirituality. Pagan art, shaman dances, pithy performances, ancient Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek and Roman art, Christian cathedrals and paintings, Ottoman mausoleums and frescoes, Hindu and Buddhist temples and sculptures... the list is endless.

Spiritual art questions human's limits, its relationship with the universe and death. It has all but disappeared from contemporary art in favor of the portrait (the selfie), which seems to have limited itself to egocentric questioning its own absence.

I'd like to give spiritual art back a place, however modest, in this two-building hall. A copy of Tadao Ando's Church of the Light, and a deconstruction of this building for a mausoleum dedicated to reflection on absence and death.

CURRENTLY IN HALL B

Scandal: an essay on a new feminine Christ, one of my earliest exhibitions.

Forgotten, not forgotten: in memory of the departed from Second Lifre, in particular my friend Nardis, who died in RL in April 2023.
