PSYCHE | Or the misfortunes of Beauty

Psyche or the misfortunes of beauty, is a work composed of 9 digital pictures and a short story, exhibited in Second Life and published in an eBook. It is a contemporary variation on the myth of Psyche, in the tradition of the tales it inspired: anchored in its own century.

In a narrative blending myth with modernity, a heroine of unparalleled beauty faces the curse of her allure, drawing male predation and female envy without recourse. Moving beyond traditional tales towards a reflection influenced by historical despair, disenchantment, and feminism, the story evolves.

The author crafts a narrative of a woman not defined by her beauty but by her contemplation of the world and dedication to others, resisting the vanity and violence of her era. Embracing free will in a secular age, the story of Psyche is reimagined, expanding into a complex exploration of autonomy and the human condition, challenging the notion of a finite ending and continuously evolving beyond its initial conception.
