HALL C

Hall C is currently divided into 4 exhibition areas dedicated to war in the world, and in particular the war in Ukraine. This exhibition will remain open until the end of the war in Ukraine.

Among the themes explored by art, war has always been a favorite. Like religious art, or contemporary art as a luxury market, art in the service of war propaganda is a tool of power. An interesting example is the use of portraiture in classical art. Portraits of the King were taken to battlefields to signify his presence. As the function of the portrait is to make the absent present (like the portraits of Jesus, Mary and the Saints in churches), this practice was intended to serve secular power.

Contemporary art has given rise to a form of contestation of power, and denounces war in particular, even if classical art (Rubens and Goya) has a few exceptions. Picasso, David Olère, Otto Dix and Banksy are famous examples.

CURRENTLY IN HALL C

2/24 in four rooms : Paroxysm, Fury, Apocalypse, Guignol and Flageolet

On February 24, 2024, I reinterpreted my work from 2022 with my new style based on AI, which I see as another technique, like a painter switching to photography or vice versa. The images produced from the original intention are strong and emotional.
