DEFINITION:
Action, which creates clear chance for a teammate to score
GUIDELINES:
It's really important action (pass, smart pass, cross...), which creates clear chance, situation and opportunity for a goal, but the teammate misses it - "not scored assist". It's important to show that the player, who made the pass, created good goal situation. Most of the times (not always) after Key Pass there has to be Shot or Head Shot and Opportunity for the other player. If there is a simple pass and a player decides to shoot from 35 meters - it's not a key pass, because the shooting player takes his decision and creates the opportunity with his action, not because the previous pass.
- it's really important action (pass, smart pass, long pass, cross...), which creates clear chance, situation and opportunity for a goal, but the teammate misses it - could be named "not scored assist"
- most of the situations (not always necessary) after key pass there should to be shot or head shot and opportunity for the other player
- it can't be used in combination with the duels, except Air win
- key pass could be used with simple passes too
De Bruyne creates clear chance for Sterling alone against the opposite GK, but he misses it - key pass must be added to smart, through pass
Meunier from Dortmund crosses the ball and puts it on the head of Haaland, who misses to score - key pass must be added to cross
Simple pass by de Jong (still he delivers good ball for scoring) to his teammate and he misses to score - key pass must be added to pass
Good cross by Messi and his teammate misses the chance with head - key pass must be added to corner kick
Key pass must be added to the pass of the player, who creates the opportunity for N.11
N.11 misses to score - his teammate delivers him a good ball behind the defensive line and creates a clear chance for him - key pass must be added to long range kick
The pass of Salah must be with key pass, because he delivers a good ball for scoring for Mane, but he misses the chance
Key pass must be added to the pass of Pogba, because he creates a good opportunity for Mbappe, but he doesn't score it
Key pass must be added to the pass of Oyarzabal, because he runs with the ball and delivers a good ball for direct shot to Busquets - when there is a shot around the penalty line, the previous pass could be with key pass, if it's good enough to deliver a easy ball, ready to be shot immediately
N.33 in dark shirt gives a good ball for his teammate, moving him in a dangerous position to score - key pass should be used for him in this situation
- key pass could be used even if a teammate doesn't reach the ball - for example: there is a low cross on the ground, good delivered ball and a teammate tries to shoot, but misses the ball - the chance is created (key pass must be added), doesn't matter that the teammate doesn't shoot
- key pass could be used also if there is a pass next, not a shot - example: there is a through pass, a player reaches the ball and he is against the opposite GK and instead of shooting, he decides to pass the ball to another teammate, who is alone against the empty goal and he misses the opportunity - for the first player, who does the through pass, should be added key pass, because he creates direct chance for scoring to his teammate (doesn't matter that he decides to pass the ball next)
The pass of Salah must be with key pass, because he crates clear chance for scoring for Mane, doesn't matter that his teammate decides to dribble, not to shoot - still the opportunity is created by Salah and he did his job in that situation
With this long pass the player of Liverpool delivers a good ball for Salah against the opposite GK - opportunity is created, doesn't matter that there is not a shot next
Pedri delivers good ball behind the line for Oyarzabal and creates him a good chance for scoring, doesn't matter that his teammate doesn't stop the ball well and wastes the opportunity - still Pedri creates a chance for him
Koke delivers good ball behind the opposite defenders and Oyarzabal could score it, but he misses the ball - still it's a good chance, crated by Koke and key pass must be added for him, doesn't matter that his teammate doesn't touch the ball
- if there is a simple pass and a player decides to shoot from 30 meters - it's not a key pass, doesn't matter that there is a shot next, because the shooting player takes his decision and creates the opportunity with his action, not because the previous pass
- if a player is caught in offside - key pass must be not added to the previous pass
This is not key pass fro Foden, doesn't matter that De Bruyne shoots next - Foden doesn't create him a clear chance for scoring, it's just a good shot by De Bruyne and he creates the opportunity by himself
N.10 in white shirt shoots the ball with head, but not so well and his teammate tries to reach it and he kicks it in the post - it's not an opportunity, created by N.10 - it's a chance for him to score, but he misses it and his bad action doesn't create a good chance for his teammate, who tries just to reach the ball
N.8 in yellow passes the ball behind the defensive line for his teammate and he tries to shoot and misses - there is offside whistled, so key pass must be not added to N.8 (still through pass must)
After the pass of N.28 in orange shirt, N.8 reaches the ball, cuts inside and shoots - even if there is a shot next, the long pass of N.28 should be without key pass, because his teammate created the chance by himself
For N.21 in black shirt key pass is not needed, because with this simple pass he doesn't create clear chance in good position for scoring for his teammate (doesn't matter that he decides to shoot next)
- example: if there is a cross, a teammate shoots the ball, the GK saves it and next another teammate scores a goal - to the first cross must be added key involvement, not key pass, because key involvement is more important event from both
With this pass De Bruyne creates a chance for Sterling to score, but he decides to pass the ball to Foden next and he scores - key involvement is more valuable than key pass and must be tagged in this situation for De Bruyne (both can't be used for the same event)
For the player, who crosses the ball rom corner kick, is key involvement (not key pass, doesn't matter that he creates chance for his teammate, N.5) and also key involvement for N.5, who plays with the ball with head next - not assist for him, because next it's own goal scored by de Light - always, when there is an own goal, the previous action is with key involvement, not assist
For Jesus is key involvement, not key pass, even if he creates a clear chance for scoring to Aguero (if he scored, the it would be an assist), because the bad touch of Aguero creates Jesus part of the goal attack, not an assistant
N.18 delivers a good ball to his teammate N.22, but he doesn't score and the ball is in the net, when N.39 kicks it in - for N.18 is key involvement, not key pass, doesn't matter that he creates a chance for N.22 - still he is part of the goal attack, which is more important
- key pass could be used even if there is slight deflection before by an opposite player and the trajectory of the ball is not so much changed
N.12 from Sevilla touches the ball, after the cross of Haaland, but the ball continues into the penalty area (N.12 doesn't change so much the trajectory of the ball) - still Interception must be tagged for him, but before the cross (to not interrupt the software algorithm), because the cross must be tagged like low, not blocked and also with key pass, because Haaland creates a chance for his teammate to score
N.11 in blue shirt passes the ball and N.9 shoots it next - doesn't matter that there is deflection from an opposite player, still the ball reaches N.9 and he is able to score - key pass must be added to N.11
