DEFINITION:
Every cleared ball
GUIDELINES:
It's used when the player clears the ball, kick it without any idea or intention, just to be far from the goal, when he has other options – to passes or holds the ball, but he decides to clear it forward or in throw in/corner kick, playing "safe". It's used most of the times when the player is pressed by an opponent, feels nervous or after a cross in the penalty area.
- every significant clearance of the ball, when a player does it with purpose, kicks the ball with the intention to clears it
- the ball could be cleared (not necessary always) out of the pitch or just far away
- many the times it's used for cleared balls after set pieces or crosses into the penalty area
- it could be used in combination with most of the events with the ball
- if the ball is cleared on the ground, it should be tagged Pass + clearance; if the ball is cleared high at the at the air - it should be Launch + clearance (most common); if it's cleared with head - it should Head pass/Air win + clearance
- clearance high at the air
N.19 clears the ball high at the air
Pique clears the ball high at the air
Ter Stegen tries to kick the ball high at the air and clear it, but his attempt is not successful - still it's important what is his idea - launch + loose ball, clearance and bad
High cleared ball by Varane
N.32 in white shirt clears the ball near the sideline - it deflects on the opposite player and goes out of the pitch - doesn't matter that the throw in is for the white team, still clearance should be used for N.32
- clearance on the ground
The defender in red feels the pressure by the opposite player and decides to clear the ball on the ground, because he is not calm enough
Goretzka blocks the opposite action and his teammate clears the ball on the ground with a sliding tackle
- clearance with a duel
Air Win + clearance for Neuer - aerial duels should be used for the goalkeepers in the same way like the rest of the players (here with clearance to the duel, because he punches the ball in combination with Exit first)
Clearance added to the defensive duel for N.19 Kabak - he stops the opposite player, who tries to dribble him and clears the ball out of the pitch, during the duel
Air Win + Clearance for the GK here, because he punches the ball during the fight with the opposite player for the high crossed ball
Rodriguez stops the attacking player, who tries to dribble him and clears the ball with sliding tackle
- clearance with head
Haaland clears the ball with head (not launch, but head, doesn't matter that it's cleared high at the air)
Pique clears the crossed ball with head
De Jong clears the ball with head - he doesn't try to pass it to a teammate, but just to clear the ball
Head pass + interception and clearance for the GK (not exit, because he goes forward to intercept the pass and clears the ball out of the pitch)
N.3 in yellow is pressed and he clears the ball with head
- it's often used (but not always necessary) in combination with under pressure, when a player is pressed by an opponent and he is not calm with the ball, plays "safe"
N.24 Meunier clears the ball after the bad first touch of the opposite player, but he is not pressed by him, because he doesn't have the possession of the ball - clearance, without under pressure here
N.3 in yellow is pressed aggressive and he clears the ball with head - under pressure must be added
The defender in red feels the pressure by the opposite player and decides to clear the ball on the ground, because he is not calm enough
- not every ball, which goes out of the pitch, must be tagged with clearance (it could be just bad action, intercepted ball or not well directed ball) - it should be cleared with purpose
- it must not be used in combination with fairplay
N.18 blocks the cross of Arnold and the ball goes out of the pitch - doesn't matter, still his idea is just to stop the opposite cross, but not to clear the ball too, he doesn't kick it, just it deflects from him - clearance is not needed here
Joe Gomez hits the ball with hand - clearance must be not used, doesn't matter if there is a penalty whistled or not - he doesn't want to clear the ball, but just to intercept the cross
Rudiger clears the ball high at the air in throw in - this is fairplay, clearance must be not added too, when fairplay is used
Shaquiri crosses the ball and Alba blocks it - doesn't matter that it goes out of the pitch, Alba doesn't want to clear it - without clearance here
Kurtois kicks the ball forward, but not so well and it goes out of the pitch - it's bad launch, but not clearance, because his idea is just to kick the ball forward, but not to clear it out of the pitch
There is a foul against Sommer - clearance must be not used, when there is foul in the aerial duel, doesn't matter if he saves or punches the ball
The player in black shirt dribbles near the side line and N.26 in white shirt stops him, but his intention is not to clear the ball with purpose, just it goes out after his defensive action, so clearance is not needed in this situation
The opposite player in white shirt tries to shield the ball and N.14 in purple marks him - doesn't matter that the ball goes out of the pitch after his touch, clearance is not needed in this situation
When the ball is kicked forward by the player in purple shirt, a player in white shirt reaches the ball and plays with it with his head - clearance should be not used in this situation, doesn't matter that the ball goes out of the pitch
- when the GK jumps with an opposite player and punches the ball - clearance must be added to air win (if there is a foul against him - without clearance)
- it's very rare (still possible) to be used in combination with the main button Interception, because in these situations the ball hit the player, not the player hit it (which is required to use clearance) - slight difference
The GK goes forward to intercepts and punches the ball (not Exit, because it's not a ball high at the air) - clearance must be added to the Interception here (most of the times only with interception for the GK should be added)
Air Win + clearance for Neuer - aerial duels should be used for the goalkeepers in the same way like the rest of the players (here with clearance to the duel, because he punches the ball in combination with Exit first)
There is a foul against Sommer - clearance must be not used, when there is foul in the aerial duel, doesn't matter if he saves or punches the ball
Air Win + Clearance for the GK here, because he punches the ball during the fight with the opposite player for the high crossed ball
Clearance should be added to the Interception of the GK here, because he punches the ball, doesn't try to catch it
