DEFINITION:
Some different usages of this event
GUIDELINES:
This event is used in a few different directions: when a player just stops/touches the ball and he has no other action (could be bad first touch or replay after his touch - not visible what happens next); it’s used also when a player brings the ball, win some part of the pitch (at least 6-7 meters or more - more than 1 line - 1 line and a half on the football pitch) with the ball in his feet, but doing it slowly or just looking for a free teammate to pass; could be used If a player crosses a line with the ball in his feet (central line of the pitch or the lines of the penalty area - always must be used, because it’s important in which side of the pitch or penalty area he receives the ball). It's used also, when the trajectory of the previous pass could be affected.
- it's used, when there is first touch and no other action next (bad stop of the ball)
- it's not used for every first touch or stop of the ball, even if it's a long pass stopped ball
- if a player stops the ball and a teammate takes ("steals) the ball from him and continue forward with it - it's touch, not a pass, because the 1st players stops the ball for himself, doesn't pass it and next just leaves it for his teammate to continue playing forward
Bad attempt from Pique to stop the cleared ball
Bad first touch from Neymar and he doesn't stop the ball well
N.17 with blue shirt touches the ball bad in the penalty area and it goes out of the pitch (even is his intention is to dribble, even he doesn't start the action)
In the beginning of the clip Rudiger tries to stop the ball after the opposite clearance - doesn't matter that the ball goes to a teammate, still it's an attempt to stop it by Rudiger (bad attempt), not with the intention to pass it, so touch should be tagged
The player in red shirt, who is sent off, stops the ball very bad and looses the possession of it
After the clearance of N.24 in yellow, the player in blue shirt takes the ball, but doesn't stop it so well and just leaves it to his teammate - it's not a pass, but touch, because his intention is not to pass the ball, but to stop it
- for received balls - if after the first touch is not visible what happens next, Touch must be used (there is replay or the camera shows something else, which doesn't give us chance to see what the player does next, after he receives the ball)
- if a GK catches some cleared ball, next it's not visible what happens for some seconds, and after that the ball is in the possession of a teammate - for the GK must be tagged touch, because we can't be sure how he passes the ball (could be pass or hand pass)
N.77 in black shirt receives the ball and next the camera shows N.19 in white shirt - not visible what happens next, but at least touch must be tagged for N.77, because it's obvious that he takes and touches the ball
- it's used for distance - slow run with the ball in the feet of a player - at least 6-7 meters or more (1 line and a half or more from the football pitch). The players brings the ball, looks for free teammate to pass him...
- it should be used to the GK too - if he catches the ball (not after save/reflex/exit, because then it's obvious) and runs with it 7-8 or more meters and next passes it - it should be used, because of the distance
- touch, because of the distance, must be used if there is no other action before the next action, for example: if there is a duel, next a player brings the ball for some distance and pass it - it's not needed, because the duel shows where he takes the ball
- if a player receives the ball, moves 10 meters back (touch must be tagged first) and next passes it - link up play must be added to the second event, because it's missing like option to the event touch
Pique receives the ball and runs with it enough long distance before to pass it - touch must be used first for him (also, because of the changed direction of the previous pass)
N.8 in yellow runs with the ball (not with fast speed) enough long distance before his long pass - touch must be used for him first (also, because of the crossed central line)
Shaw intercepts the opposite pass and wins some space from the pitch with the ball in his feet - enough long distance (here must be Interception first)
In the beginning of the clip Kjaer from Denmark looks a free teammate to pass the ball and goes forward with the ball in his feet - enough long distance to use touch
Touch, loose ball should be used first for the GK, because of the distance where he takes the ball and where he kicks it next
Touch should be used in this case, not offensive duel with left (defensive duel, right for the defender), for N.17 in white shirt, because the opposite defender wasn't well orientated and able to reach the ball and put himself out of position, trying to sprint after to reach his opponent
- it's used for every crossed line on the pitch with the ball in the feet - both penalty areas (big, for small ones - not) and the central line of the pitch
- if a player takes the ball in his own half, crosses the central line forward in the opposite half, next moves back again in his own half - it's not needed to use Touch, because at the end he will play the ball from the same spot
Sterling receives the ball outside of the penalty area and goes inside with it - touch must be used before the shot
Touch must be used for Pique before the pass, because he crosses the central line (not for the round line) of the pitch - he takes the ball in his own half and passes it in the opposite half
Pique takes the ball inside in his own penalty area and passes it outside of the areaÂ
Bale comes back to receives the ball and takes it in the opposite half and passes it from his own - touch must be used first (also link up play to the pass, not to the touch, because with touch it's not choosable option)
Haaland takes the ball outside and crosses it inside of the penalty area - even for such a short distance touch must be used
Before the through pass, Pogba stops the ball in his own half, behind the line and passes it from the opposite half, in front of the line - even for such a small distance, touch must be used, because of the crossed line
N.8 in yellow crosses the central line with the ball
N.28 in dark shirt stops the ball outside of the penalty are and passes it from the penalty line - even for such a small distance touch must be used, because the line is part of the penalty area and the pass is considered for the statistics from inside the penalty area
- it's used, because of the direction/trajectory of the previous pass - when the trajectory, could be affected (there is backward pass, a player takes the ball, brings it forward and passes it - if Touch is not added, the previous pass will be automatically directed like forward pass)
- it's used, when it will affect the trajectory of the previous pass - forward, backward or sideward, but not if it will affect it to one of both directions - right or left
Busquets passes the ball to Pique and he goes forward with the ball and passes through the line of the spot of Busquet's pass - touch must be used for Pique (on the spot, where he receives the ball), because if it's not tagged, the Busquet's pass will appear like forward pass, which is not true (it's backward pass) - it's important for the stats
Riqui Puig passes the ball to de Jong and takes it again. Next he passes it to Messi, who passes it back to him. Before the nextx pass to Trincao, Puig goes forward with the ball and crosses the invisible line of the spot of Messi's pass - touch must be tagged for Puig before the last pass to Trincao, otherwise it will affect the trajectory of the Messi's pass
The pass of N.11 in yellow, before the shot - it's from the middle of the darker line on the pitch, backward pass - his teammate stops the ball and shoots it from the border between darker/lighter line - touch must be added, because if not - the pass of N.11 will appear like forward pass, the trajectory will be affected and not accurate
Before the long pass of N.10 in white shirt, touch must be tagged to him, because of the trajectory of his teammate's pass - even for such a short distance and direction, it should be used to show the previous pass direction (backward pass, not forward or sideward, if the touch is not tagged)
N.44 in white shirt - even for such a short distance, touch must be used for the first touch, because it changes the trajectory of the previous pass of his teammate from the throw in - if it's not used, the throw in pass will appear like forward pass
- never must be used in combination with vol.interception (the right event should be not touch + vol.interception, but the button Interception)
- it should be used if there is double deflection: a player crosses the ball, it's blocked by an opposite player and deflects again by the crossing player and goes away - the last action should be touch + loose ball
The GK goes forward to intercepts and punches the ball (not Exit, because it's not a ball high at the air) - also clearance could be added to the Interception here - it must be used the button Interception, not the combination Touch + vol.interception (which must be never used)
Shaw intercepts the opposite pass and next runs with the ball enough long distance before passing it - because of the distance here, 1st there must be tagged the button Interception, not Touch + vol.interception and later must be tagged pass
- could be used also in combination with ball missed / ball missed feint - when a player misses the ball (with purpose or by a mistake)
Before the assist, Ozil has a chance to play with the ball in front of the penalty area, but misses it with purpose (he has some idea not touching the ball and immediately sprints right after in the empty space) for his teammate - touch, ball missed, feint for Ozil
The right central defender in white/red shirt tries to intercepts the opposite cross, but can't reach the ball - touch, ball missed, because there is an attempt by him to reach the ball
Griezmann misses the ball with purpose, but his teammates don't "read" his intention - still touch, ball missed, feint
Oyarzabal from Spain tries to shoot the ball with head, but misses and doesn't reach it - missed ball
- when a player intercepts a teammate's pass (of course by accident) - touch must be used. If there is a shot or a cross - Interception must be used, because the shot/cross should be tagged like blocked - the only one situation, when Interception could be used, when the ball comes by a teammate
Braitwhite passes the ball, but it touches his teammate, N.8 - interception must be not used after a pass from a teammate (possible only after corss or a shor) and here only touch must be tagged for him, because still he touches the ball and does nothing else
Simon clears the ball and it deflects from his teammate, Laporte - only touch for him, because he doesn't do any action, just touches the ball
- doesn't matter how many times a player touches the ball, it's important what is the distance, which he brings the ball, not the number of touches - if a player touches many times the ball, but do it at the same spot of the pitch - it's not needed to be used
Deosn't matter how many times Sterling touches the ball, at the end he passes the ball almost from the same spot, so touch is not needed for him (the distance is important, not the number of touches)
Really long pass, next N.3 in red stops the ball and passes it almost from the same spot - doesn't matter how difficult is the previous pass for stopping, touch is not used for well stopped ball or for every first touch
In the beginning of the clip Walker receives the ball in the opposite half, crosses the central line and goes in his own and at the end passes the ball again in the opposite half - doesn't matter that the line is crossed twice, at the end he passes the ball where he receives it, so touch is not needed
Again, in the beginning of the clip, Pedri goes with the ball in his own half and next again crosses the line and goes in the opposite half - the line is corssed twice, but the pass is from the spot, where he receives the ball at the beginning, so touch is not needed here
N.27 in red shirt steals the ball on the sideline and runs with it next - his run is not so fast, this is not enough to be used accealaration and also touch must be not used for the big distance, covered with the ball, because there is a duel in the beginning of the situation, which shows where the player takes the ball
