DEFINITION:
Fight between 2 or more players for high ball at the air
GUIDELINES:
These events are used, when there is a duel, fight at the air for high ball between 2 or more players. Usually attacking and defensive player jumps at the air with an attempt to reach the ball. The important thing is who will touch the ball first, doesn't matter what will happen next. For the player, who touches the ball first - it's Air Win; for the other player – Air Lost. An example – there is a duel in the penalty area, 2 players are jumps for the ball, the defender touches the ball first, but scores an own goal – still it is Air Win for the defender. Not every time when a player plays with head it's an Aerial Duel - there must be fight with an opposite player, who disturbs him. Also at least one of the fighting players must jump at the air, if both don't jump - it should not be an Aerial Duel.Â
- there must be a fight for a ball at the air between 1 or more playersÂ
- at least one of the players must jump at the air (not needed both of them)
- it's important who touches the ball first, doesn't matter what happens next - it's air win for him and air lost for the other player
- if there is air lost and the opposite player scores a goal - it should be with bad
Air Win for Van Dijk and Air Lost for N.17
Air Win for Van Dijk and Air Lost for the other player
Air Win for Jotta and Air Lost for N.3 (also with bad)
Air Win for Van Dijk and Air Lost for N.30
Air Lost for Van Dijk and Air Win for Abraham
After the first aerial duel in the middle of the pitch, the defender in blue shirt jumps twice in a row over his opponent, playing 2 times with the ball - both actions must be tagged like 2 air wins
N.14 in light-blue shirt - air lost shouldn't be tagged for him, it's just bad positioning and movement from him, couldn't mark his opponent, but there is not aerial duel between him and the goal scorer
- if a player jumps with 2 or more opposite players, there will be different aerial duel with all of them
Air Win for the GK, who plays with the ball. Air Lost for the opposite player against him. Another duel, Air Win this time for the player of Sevilla and Air Win for the defender of Dortmund, who also jumps in the situation - Air Neutral for both of them, because nobody touches the ball from them
Air Win for the GK, Air Lost for Witsel against him. Air Win also for both Witsel and Chiellini, because the Italian defender also participates in the duel
2 Air Wins for Busquets against both Italian defenders - Air Lost for both of them
There is a cross from corner kick and a player from Miami (in pink shirt) jumps with 2 opposite players - 2 aerial duels must be tagged for him (Air Lost with the player, who plays with the ball and Air Win with the other player, because nobody from them touches the ball)
- if 2 players jump for the ball and nobody touches it - it's air win for both of them.Â
Both players jump in the middle of the pitch - Air Win (neutral) for both of them or if makers are necessary to be used - Air Win for the player in blue shirt (Air Lost to the other), because next the possession of the ball is for Ukraine
There is no foul, so it's Air Win for both players and if markers are needed - Air Win to Eric Garcia (doesn't matter that he doesn't jump), because the possession of the ball is for his team next
- if goalkeeper jumps with an opposite player, there must be exit and aerial duel for him too (if he catches the ball - air win; if he punches the ball - air win + clearance; if he punches the ball, but there is a foul against him - without clearance)
Air Win for Neuer (Air Lost to the other player) - Aerial duels should be used for the goalkeepers in the same way like the rest of the players (here with clearance to the duel, because he punches the ball in combination with Exit)
Air Win + Clearance for the GK here, because he punches the ballÂ
Air win, without Clearance here, because there is a foul against the GK and Clearance is not needed in situations with foulsÂ
There is a long pass behind the defensive line and the GK goes forward, leaving the penalty area - it should be aerial duel (won) for the GK, not exit, because he goes forward to intercepts the ball, which bounces from the ground and to be faster than the opposite playerÂ
- air win can't be used for the same situation with head pass - if the player jumps with an opposite player - it's a duel; if he plays with the ball, when he is not disturbed - head pass. If there is a shot with head - both should be used (air win and head shot)
When there is a shot during the aerial duel - it must be tagged too (Head Shot and Air Win here for Jotta)
Head Shot and Aerial Duel for Gerard Moreno (Air Lost for the opposite player)
2 Air Win + Head Shot for Busquets here
After the cross and before the shot there is a duel at the air between Lukaku and the opposite defender from Lazio, who misses the ball - air won should be tagged for Lukaku, because both are jumping and fighting for the ball at the air, just he uses his body phisique and strength and win the duel, stopping the ball with his chest and shooting it after
- if 2 players jump and there is a foul - it's always Air Win for the player, who suffers the foul and Air Lost for the player, who does the foul...doesn't matter who plays with the ball first
Air Lost + Foul for Ramos and Air Win for the opposite player - in situations with foul doesn't matter who plays with the ball first
Air Lost for Rabbiot and Foul for him too
Air Lost for the Spanish player and Air Win for the GK
- air win can't be used for the same situation with head pass - if the player jumps with an opposite player - it's a duel; if he plays with the ball, when he is not disturbed - head pass. If there is a shot with head - both should be used (air win and head shot)
- if a player jumps over an opponent and directs the ball to a teammate - still only Air win should be tagged (without Head pass, doesn't matter that the ball is directed)
This is not an Aerial duel between Griezmann and the opposite defender - Griezmann is anticipated, but there is no fight at the air, it's fight for better position (defensive duel + anticipation and head pass for the opposite player)
Zinchenko, N.17 - the fight is on the ground, not at the air, so it's loose ball duel and head pass for him, not an aerial duel
This is not an aerial duel, because there is no fight at the air between both players - the Spanish player misses the ball and the player in read clears it with head next
Before the shot - it's not an aerial duel, because the fight between the players, is on the ground, for better position and Azpilicueta pushes the opposite player and then jumps to shoot the ball
Gerard Moreno - before the shot he pushed the opposite player - loose ball duel, not aerial duel, because the fight is on the ground and both players don't jump
After the cross the GK goes forward to take the ball, but the opposite player does a foul against him - the contact is at the air, so aerial duel win should be used for the GK, not loose ball duel (and also exit too)
For N.5 in red shirt should be tagged head pass, not aerial duel, doesn't matter that the opposite player runs to disturb him, still it's not a fight at the air
The GK kicks the ball in the middle of the pitch and there is fight between both players - it's an example, when 2 duels could be tagged between both players: first - loose ball duel (because of the fight for better position) and second - aerial duel, win for the player in red
- aerial duel with foot - when there is attempt by a player to play with the ball with foot, not with head (scissors kick) - still if the fight is at the air, it should be aerial duel
The scissors kick of Ronaldo - still should be tagged like Air Win before the shot, because N.2 also jumps with an attempt to reach the ball with head (just Ronaldo decides to jump with foot) - still fight at the air
