DEFINITION:
Dribble, during an individual play 1 vs. 1, when a player tries to leave his opponent behind
GUIDELINES:
It can be added only to the duels - Offensive and Defensive. When a player dribbles to one of both sides, plays 1 vs. 1, but with the idea to pass through the opposite player, to leave him behind and eliminate him. When a player uses his technique, vision, arsenal with feints, lying moves or his speed to pass through/dribble his opponent. It's important the idea, the attempt of the player to do it, doesn't matter is it or not successful. Always consider from which side the player runs, not where the ball goes, because it's possible to move the ball between the legs of the opposite player. An example: if a player dribbles at the same time between 2 opposite players, we have to tag 2 different duels with right take on and left take on - from both sides of the players.
- they can be added only to the duels – Offensive and Defensive
- when a player dribbles to one of both sides, plays 1 vs. 1, but with the idea to pass through the opposite player, to leave him behind and eliminate him
- when a player uses his technique, vision, arsenal with feints, lying moves or his speed to pass through/dribble his opponent
- it's important the idea, the attempt of the player to do it, doesn't matter is it or not successful
Mane dribbles the opposite player with right take on - he eliminates his opponent and leaves him behind (left take on for the opposite player)
Mane dribbles directly against his opponent and successfully eliminates him with left take on and goes into the penalty area (right take on for the defender)
Unsuccessful attempt for dribble (right take on) by the attacker in green shirt against Silva (left take on for him)
Unsuccessful attempt for dribble (left take on for him and right take on for Silva) by the attacking player in white/blue shirt in the middle of the pitch
N.7 in blue shirt dribbles and pass through his opponent near the penalty line - next he faces another opposite player and decides to pass the ball back - still he eliminates the first player, doesn't matter that he doesn't continue his dribble, so left take on must be used here, not only left
N.77 in white shirt tries to stop the opposite player - even if he comes from behind, at some moment they were on the same line (which is enough to be used take on) and left take on (right take on for N.12) must be added, because the attacking player tries to dribble and eliminate N.77
There is a foul against the forward in white shirt - he tries to dribble the opposite defender on his back with right take on, but he is fouled
N.4 in blue shirt dribbles and there is a foul against him by the opposite player - left take on should be used here, because he leaves his opponent behind
The player in black shirt dribbles and tries to overtake the opposite captain near the side line, who stops him - it's better to be used take on, not only right, because if this attempt was successful he would left behind his opponent
Def. duel + right take on for N.2 in yellow shirt (off, duel + left take on for the attacking player) should be tagged here, because it's a 1 vs. 1 dribbling, just the defender takes better position and wins the possession of the ball
Accelaration is the better option here, not touch, because N.15 in yellow shirt (close to the sideline) changes his speed and accelarates his run, but also there must be off. duel + left take on, because in some point both players are on the same line (doesn't matter that the opposite player runs from behind to catch him with diagonal movement) and N.15 wants to pass through and eliminates his opponent, leaving him behind
- always must be considered from which side the player runs, not where the ball goes, because it's possible to move the ball between the legs/"nutmeg" an opposite player
- if a player moves the ball from the left side of the opponent and runs from his right side - it must be right take on (it's considered the movement of the player, not the ball)
Mane dribbles the opposite player with right take on - he eliminates his opponent and leaves him behind (left take on for the opposite player) - he moves the ball between his legs and must be considered from which side he runs, not where the ball goes
Successful attempt for dribble by Neymar - with left take on, he eliminates the opposite player (right take on for him) - it's important that Neymar runs from the left side of the opposite player
N.5 in white shirt intercepts the ball and tries to dribble his opponent - he wants to move the ball from his right side and run from the left side of the opposite player - left take on must be tagged for him (right take on for the other player)
N.14 in red shirt tries to dribble Walker - he kicks the ball from his right side and runs from the left side - left take on for Damsgaard and right take on for Walker
- if a player dribbles at the same time between 2 opposite players, we have to tag 2 different duels with right take on and left take on - from both sides of the players
Imobbile tries to dribble between 2 players at the same time - must be tagged like 2 different duels against both players - right take on with one of them and left take on for the other (left take on for Alba and right take on for Laporte)
N.7 in pink shirt tries to dribble between 2 opposite players at the same time - 2 duels must be tagged for him again both players and both of them with right take on and left take on
- if a player runs back with the ball or shields it - sides are not needed, only offensive duel is enough
- must not be used in combination with anticipation/anticipated (if there is unsuccessful attempt for anticipation, take is not needed, because it's a mistake by the defensive player, not a good dribble by the attacking player)
- when an opposite player comes from behind (runs backward to catch the other player), take on must not be used
N.11 in white shirt tries to steal the ball from his opponent from behind, but he is already in front of him - take on is not needed here, because the opposite player is in better position in the beginning of the situation and just goes forward
In the beginning of the clip Busquets does a tackle to Benzema, but he runs back and tries to stop him - take on is not needed, because of the starting positions of both players - Benzema is already in front of Busquets, it's not needed to eliminate him
Dribble by N.7 in green/red shirt (not just under pressure to the next action), but without take on, because the opposite player comes back and tries to steal the ball from him
Sterling wins a foul against N.4 - he dribbles back, so direction or take on are not needed, only offensive duel is enough - he can't eliminate his opponent, when he goes backward
After the throw in the opposite defender tries to do an anticipation, but not successful - this is not take on, because the attacking player doesn't do anything to eliminate the defender - only bad anticipation for him
The player in red shirt in the middle of the pitch, who kicks the ball over the head of the attacking player in white shirt - this is an offensive duel (defensive for the player in white), dribble against him with his move (at the same time, without take on, because he dribbles back)
There is foul against N.14 in white/green shirt - take on is not needed in this situation, because his idea is not to dribble against his opponent, but just to reach the ball first, according to his better position and with the idea to win a foul, not to eliminate the opposite player
N.8 in blue shirt dribbles with the ball and N.11 in yellow, who does the foul, tries to reach and stop him, but he comes from behind with diagonal movement, so take on is not needed in this situation for both players (only for the first duel should be used, with N.2 in yellow)
