Mission Mosquito

Mission Mosquito involves pupils in real research working alongside an entomologist (Dr Erica Mc Alsiter) from the Natural History Museum. Pupils will be seeking answers to questions about mosquito populations in their local area.

Some pupils are continuing the work begun with Dr Cathy Roberts and are familiar with collection, identification and sample pinning procedures. They are acting as valuable leaders to the new members.

The new team met Dr Erica Mc Alister on 'International Day of Women and Girls in Science'. They learnt a lot about mosquitoes. It was fascinating!

Pupils will begin collecting mosquito larvae at the end of February and will be visiting Erica at the Natural History Museum in March.
