Black History and Science Lessons

Year 5 and 6 Gillespie pupils supported younger pupils from Science for Life hub schools to undertake inventing lessons whilst celebrating the work of black scientists including George Washington Carver and Dr. Charlotte Armah. After learning about the scientific work that the scientists carried out, pupils invented their own salad dressings, scented bath oils and lip balms and then evaluated them, saying what they would do differently if they were to make them again. Parents came along to support pupils and joined in.
