Micro bits workshop

November 25th, 2019: Newington Green Primary School hosted a microbits workshop. Alongside their pupils, students from Gillespie, Prior Weston and Ashmount attended.

Pupils were introduced to careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths as a result of discussions based around the book: Blue Broccoli and Nanobots.

Su Adams from 'U Can Too' taught the pupils how to 'hack fairy lights' i.e. programme them to flash on and off.

Staff from Newington Green taught pupils how to programme microbits to count how many times they could hit a ball in the air with a tennis racquet.
