Pupils from six Islington primary schools led and participated in hands-on science activities related to sustainability at Science for Life's Autumn collaborative event. STEM ambassadors kindly volunteered to join in and made presentations about what they do and what inspired them to take up STEM-related careers.
This is what staff had to say about pupils who attended the event:
"One student is very shy so it was great to see him talking to students from another school. One student is very interested in science and he said he was going to go back to school and show others how to make some of the projects." Ambler
"One girl was able to show leadership skills and communicate with new children effectively. She went back to school very happy." Duncombe
This is what some participating pupils had to say about the event:
"I liked the way there were STEM ambassadors talking about their jobs and childhoods." Lila "Marilena told us how to make a lab sustainable." Juliette"My favourite part about it was working at the stall and helping others do our activities." AlfieHanover pupils led others to investigate the peppered moth and camouflage.
Duncombe pupils taught others how to reuse bottle tops to make stamps.

Robert Blair pupils shared resources for others to create bug hotels.
Gillespie pupils shared their research about plastic and how to reuse bottles to make decorations.
