On Tuesday 18 February, families from schools within the Science for Life partnership were invited to a Family Day: 'Building the Universe One Block at a Time' hosted by the Institute of Physics. A pop-up exhibition, developed by the University of York, gave adults and children the opportunity to uncover the secrets of the atom.
Families explored the building blocks of our universe with hands-on activities.
There was a chance to build atoms though an art and craft activity.
Parents and children contributed to the creation of a 7-metre long LEGO® model containing over 25,000 LEGO® bricks.
Children ventured into virtual worlds in Minecraft to see the nuclear chart.
