Our action plan is a working document, and so will be updated as decisions are made in SfL Hub meetings.

Autumn 2019

• • Hub meeting HT1: 4.15pm - 5.30pm, Wednesday 25th September, Lab_13 at Gillespie Primary School

    • Welcome, share key dates

    • Ideas for first SfL event (e.g. sustainability science fair?)

    • Ada Lovelace Day 8th October - Musical Gloves Workshop - to occur later in year

    • Bringing science into Black History Month - George Washington Carver lesson

    • Give out remaining MakeDo kits

    • Update on UCL Air Pollution workshops

    • Choose CPD focus

      • Forces, Science Capital, Evolution & Inheritance

      • ASE conference - who has PSQM, golden ticket?

    • Feedback about impact of SfL so far

  • Hub meeting HT2: 5.15pm - 6.15pm Wednesday 27th November, Lab_13 at Gillespie Primary School

    • Followed by Teacher Lates (Art & Science focus) at the Science Museum straight after

    • Planning for collaborative event

    • Give out Whizz Pop Bang magazines

  • Workshop: gesture-controlled musical gloves (tbc)

Spring 2020

• Hub Meeting HT3: 9:00am - 5:00pm Friday 10th January, ASE Conference Reading

• Hub Meeting HT4: 4:30pm - 5:45 pm Wednesday 4th March, Lab_13 at Gillespie Primary School

  • Share best bits of ASE Conference

  • Visit from Andrea Silani - Lift Lessons - science vocabulary learning platform and resources designed to support vocabulary learning in science across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4

  • Collaborative Enrichment Grants - applying for funding to put on collaborative events in Islington schools

  • Give out resources - Blue Broccoli and Nanobots: Awesome Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths books

  • Final preparations for Young Scientists' Conference

• Collaborative event: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Wednesday 11th March, Young Scientists’ Conference (hosted by IOP)

• CPD: 1:30pm - 1:30pm - 4:30pm Wednesday 1st April - Evolution and Inheritance, Lab_13 at Gillespie Primary School - accompanied by free resource box

Summer 2020
