Roving Scientist Child Leadership Opportunities and resdient scientist's work

In addition to her resident scientist work at Gillespie, Science for Life's, Megan Begley, is now delivering science leadership opportunities in Science for Life schools in her capacity as a roving scientist. Key Stage1 and 2 pupils at Gillespie, Christ the King, Whitehall Park and Yerbury have enjoyed planning, testing out and delivering activities to members of their school communities. Christ the King pupils delivered a whole school STEM fair after school. Whitehall Park made steady hand games and then presented their work at the Science for Life and Institute of Physics Teamwork event. Yerbury put on a science-themed magic show for Key Stage 2 pupils and parents. Gillespie's science committee delivered a day of engineering events for the whole school and their parents. Gillespie's eco-committee ran an after-school marine event to raise awareness about marine life and about the harm that plastic is causing marine life in the ocean. They also prepared marine-themed food which they sold to raise money for the Ocean Conservation Trust.  All Islington schools are welcome to get involved.
