EVENT NUMBER 3, Bakewell and Crich Tramway Village
Derbyshire
Tuesday 24th March – Price :- £50.00
Bakewell offers a blend of historic sights, scenic walks, and local market experiences. The town is famously associated with the Bakewell Pudding and is a gateway to the Peak District.
Explore the town's charming shops and boutiques, including locally made gifts, clothing and fashion accessories. We will have plenty of time for some shopping, and to have a bite of lunch in the town.
You might enjoy a visit to one of the local bakeries to try the famous confection, Bakewell Pudding, allegedly created by mistake by a local inn cook in the 19th century.
After lunch, we will travel to Crich, home to the National Tramway Museum and features a re-created period village with a working tramway.
It is a family-friendly attraction where visitors can ride vintage trams, explore exhibitions, and walk through a woodland trail. There are food and drink outlets (or you are welcome to bring your own picnic) and a working tramline.
Trams depart regularly from the town end and will return to Stephenson’s Place with stops at Wakebridge (for the mining display, Cabmen’s Shelter, Octagon and Woodland Walk) and Glory Mine. Visit the ‘Century of Trams’ exhibition, taking you on a fascinating journey through a hundred years of tramway development, from 1860 – 1960, taking in horse trams, steam trams and electric trams.
We will leave Peterborough at 8.15am and arrive at Bakewell by 10.30am. We leave Bakewell at 1.00pm to get to Crich by 1.45pm. We will depart Crich at 4.30pm and should be back in Peterborough at around 6.45pm.
Deposit of £30pp (or full payment) with Event No 3 Booking Form by 30th January 2026. Balance by 6th March 2026.
