Surviving the semester...
You Made It Through!
Maybe you finished better than you thought you would.
Maybe you had a lot of challenges.
Either way, reward yourself for making it through!
Review The Semester
After you enjoy your reward and take a short break, sit back and think about the semester
Check your grades on ROAR.
It will tell you if you are in good academic standing (cumulative [overall] and current [most recent term] grade point averages are 2.0 or better).
Get paper and a pen.
Write down what worked and what didn't.
Set goals and put together a plan for the next semester listing what you need and how to get it.
Think about your self-care plan and how that fits into your semester.
Check for your resources and connect for suggestions.
Pierpont faculty and staff are here to help you succeed.
Give us the opportunity to help you!
Self-Reflection
Self-reflection brings perspective to our lives.
It helps us learn, grow, appreciate, and understand.
As a college student, it is important to practice self-reflection at the end of each semester.
By asking yourself questions, you can reflect on your strengths and challenges.
Below are some sample questions to help you begin your self-reflection.

Make an Action Plan
When you have completed your self-reflection, it is time to review your answers.
Taking an honest look at your answers will help you create an idea of what needs to improve and what should stay the same.
Check your resources in relation to things that need to improve.
Write down a list of what you want to do the next semester.
Review the list before the semester and regularly throughout the semester to keep on track.
But you don't understand.
I failed some classes!
Don't Panic.
Don't Give Up! There is help.
Pierpont has a D/F repeat policy.
If you have taken less than 60 hours of classes, you can retake a class, and the second grade replaces the failing grade on your transcript.

mindset check
This is for your practice.
This does not need to be done to complete the module.
In a journal or on paper, write down a negative thought you have been having recently on the topics above or other topics.
Sit back, take a couple of deep breaths, and allow your body to relax. Then write down a positive (growth mindset) thought to counterbalance or counteract the negative (fixed mindset) thought.
