A loan is money you borrow and must pay back with interest.
If you decide to take out a loan, make sure you understand who is making the loan and the terms and conditions of the loan
(ex., total amount of the loan, when the payments will begin, how long you will have to make payments, the interest rate, what happens if you can't make payments, etc.).
Grants
A grant is money the government provides for students who need it to pay for college.
Unlike loans, grants do not have to be paid back.
Eligible students receive a specified amount each year.
