How to Use Pierpont Printers
Steps to use Pierpont's printers with images
Step 1:
Log on to a Pierpont computer with your student username/UCA and password.
NOTE: You can only use Pierpont computers, not personal computers, to print on Pierpont printers.
Step 2:
Access the document you would like to print - this could be a Word Document, PDF, photo, content from a jump drive, through your Pierpont OneDrive account, email. etc.
(This example will be for a Word Document.)
Step 3:
Click "File" in the top right corner and select "Print" from the menu that pops up.
Step 4:
Check that the printer selected is "Papercut On PCTC-App-01."
This could vary based on your campus location (Ex., Advanced Technology Center, Caperton Center), but the name will usually be "Papercut on PCTC-APP-01"
Step 5:
Make sure all of your settings are correct.
Ex., How many copies you want, one- or two-sided, color or black & white preference, portrait orientation, etc.
Step 6:
Click "Print."
This sends the job to the printer. Your document will not automatically print at this step.
Step 7:
Lock the computer you are using and go to any Pierpont PaperCut printer - they are labeled (see below).
Step 8:
Use the touch screen to log in to the printer with your student username/UCA and password. Click "Log in" when finished.
Step 9:
Double check your printer settings by clicking "Print Release"
Then click the ">" symbol.
NOTE: You can print more than one document at a time. If you do, check all settings and if everything is correct click "Select all jobs" before clicking "Print."
If you print one job at a time, the printer could time out and log out of your account before you finish the other tasks. If that happens, your tasks will expire and you will have to go back to the computer to print the other documents again.
You can make some small changes on this page such as: the number of copies and the color/greyscale.
NOTE: On this page, there is a cost per page/color.
$0.10 per black and white page
$0.18 per color page
Printing charges will show up on your ROAR account.
If you see another fee amount, feel that your print charges are inaccurate, would like to pay the charges, or have other questions, contact Student Accounts.

Step 10:
If everything looks correct, click "Print." You will get a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen. Your document will print now.
If something is wrong, sign out of the printer and go back to the computer to fix the settings and start the printing process over.
Step 11:
When you are finished, be sure to sign out of the printer by clicking the exit button in the top right corner.
Sometimes the printer will automatically sign you out before your document is finished printing, which is okay. The printer will complete the task.
Step 12:
Collect your documents. If you did not close everything on the computer you were using, go back to the computer to close everything and sign off of the computer.
