How to Get Your Student ID & username (UCA)

What is a student ID/UCA and where do I get it?
Your student ID-username is your official identification to access class information, registration, and more at Pierpont.
Every student who is registered is given an ID: username (UCA) and a number.
For example, if your email is jsmith2@student.pierpont.edu, then your UCA is jsmith2.
Your number would begin with an 'R' followed by zeros and 6 digits (ex., R00123456).

Your username (UCA) should be on the back of your acceptance letter from Pierpont.
If you do not know your username/UCA or your student number,

How do i activate my username (UCA) and my email?
While every student receives a username, the usernames are not "active" until the student sets them up.
When a student is accepted into Pierpont, 24 hours after being accepted, the student will receive 2 emails to the personal email account s/he provided.
The first email will provide the student's user ID/username (UCA) and her/his Pierpont email.
The second email will provide the student with a temporary password to her/his Pierpont email with a link to a website page where she/he can reset their password.

Signing on to your pierpont apps
After you set up your ID, you access the Dashboard that has your Pierpont apps (Blackboard, ROAR, Microsoft 365, etc.) through either https://my.pierpont.edu or through the Portal link on Pierpont's website
Enter your UCA and Password.
NOTE: If you do not have this information or the page will not accept the information, contact IT at help@pierpont.edu.
What is the Dashboard?
When you log on to Pierpont's Portal, it will show you your Dashboard.
The Dashboard contains the programs that you have access to as a student.
Yours might not have the same programs as shown in the example to the left.

How to get an ID card
Pierpont ID Cards are available to students.
Why would you want a card?
Fairmont-Marion County Transit Authority Buses will allow a Pierpont student to ride for free when the student shows the driver their Pierpont student ID card.
Students can receive medical treatments at MVA Health Centers, Inc.

Some programs require internships, and some of the internships require the students to have their ID Cards.

To get your card you follow these steps:
Complete and submit the form. (Use the 'ID Card Form' link below)
You will need your UCA and password to sign in to access the form.
The form requires you to upload a picture (headshot) of yourself.
Pick up your ID card from the information desk at the Advanced Technology Center. This can take up to 2 weeks to be processed.
Cards can be mailed to you if you request this.
