Financial Aid
You can use your financial aid to pay for books and other program-related items when you purchase them from Pierpont's bookstore (Pierpont's Campus Store).
How much financial aid can I spend on books?
Right now, a student can charge up to $500.
If you need to increase the amount that is authorized, the $500, contact Pierpont's Financial Aid to request the total amount that will be needed.
Include something proving you need an increase to purchase the books. A screenshot of the bookstore page showing what you need to purchase that has the prices listed will work.
Can I use my financial aid to buy a computer?
Yes - up to $500 on certain approved computers.
On the PC&TC website under Current Students, there is a dropdown.
Click on BOOKSTORE-COMPUTERS, and a list of eligible computers that are approved for purchase by financial aid will appear.
My program requires that I have special equipment.
Can I purchase that at Pierpont's Store using my financial aid?
Some items you can.
Purchases are restricted to items required for the program such as knife sets for culinary classes.
Contact financial aid for specific information.
What if an instructor requires something that is not listed on the Pierpont Store list?
It would be best to contact the instructor for clarification and to verify that the item is needed to successfully complete the class/program.
If it is, contact Financial Aid.
I want to buy a Pierpont t-shirt. Can I pay for that with my financial aid?
No.
Items such as Pierpont merchandise (ex., t-shirts, jackets, etc.) are not permitted to be purchased using financial aid.
Ordering Books from
Pierpont's Online Bookstore
Below are the steps to find and order books from Pierpont's online bookstore.
Step 1
Go to Pierpont's Website
Click on Current Students
Click on Bookstore
That takes you to Pierpont's Campus Store
Step 2
Scroll down to Get Your Textbooks
Choose the term (ex., Spring 2023)
Click on Find Courses
That takes you to the textbook information page
Step 3 - To Shop by Course:
Enter the course information
You can find the information in your ROAR account by clicking on Concise Student Schedule
Your course name is in 3 parts
Click on Select Department - enter your class' Department (ex., Engl for an English class)
Click on Select Course - enter your Course number (ex., 1104)
Click on Select Section - enter your Section number (ex., V02 - there are several 1104 English classes; this is the one you are in)
You can enter information for more than one book at a time.
You can delete books by clicking on Delete on the left of the book.
When all of the information is entered, click on Find Material for (# of books) Course(s)
Step 4
This is where you choose the textbook you want
BIOY 1170 V04 - has a required textbook that you can buy or rent
BIOY 1171 V03 - doesn't have a textbook, but has free educational material - contact your instructor for information
ENGL 1104 V02 - has 3 choices - if you are unsure which one to purchase, contact your instructor
When you check the books you want, this is the page that you will submit as your order
Click on Add (#) Items to Bag
You can stop here, exit, and return later. It keeps the books in your Bag, which you can access by clicking Bag on the upper right of the page.
Ordering Information
This section provides information about ordering under Resources
Delivery Options (ex., how long until I get my order? How much will it cost to ship my order?)
Payment Accepted (ex., American Express, Apple Pay, Financial Aid/Scholarship/VA/ThirdParty)
Step 5
Review the items in your bag to make sure they are correct
This page also provides you with the cost minus shipping
Click View Bag & Checkout
Step 6
Review the Order Summary
If everything is okay, click Checkout
An informational note will appear (see below), click Proceed to Checkout
Step 7
This is where you begin to process your payment
If you have rented any books, you will be required to create an account, because you will have to return the book to the bookstore when you are finished with it.
When you create your account, you will get an email verifying this.
Step 8
From this point forward, you will process your payment information as you would with other online orders.
You will need to select delivery.
Click Payment Method
Enter your payment information
If you are charging books to your financial aid/student account
Click the Financial Aid/Scholarship box.
Enter your Student ID/UCA (ex. if your email is jsmith5@student.pierpont.edu, then your UCA is jsmith5)
Click place order
Step 9
Finalize your order by clicking Place Order
NOTE
If the textbook you need is not currently in stock, which means you might not have it in time,
check other sources (ex., Amazon) and contact your instructor to let her/him know.
What if there is a problem with my order from pierpont's campus store?

IMPORTANT:
If the issue is affecting your ability to work or perform in your class (ex., a textbook does not arrive), let the instructor know right away.
