Barbecue in the Fields

On May 16th, NHS Studco hosted a memorable barbecue for all students during lunchtime. To accommodate this special event, all classes on the day of the barbecue were shortened by 15 minutes, allowing students to enjoy a generous two-hour lunch period. This event offered a taste of the upcoming summer and provided a sneak peek into what Relay For Life 2024 will entail.

Students were encouraged to step out onto the school's back field, where they could participate in various activities such as football, spikeball, and ultimate frisbee. Additionally, multiple booths were set up featuring carnival games like cup pong, ring toss, and trivia. These games offered prizes to all students who participated and won. Many students also brought their own entertainment, including board games and picnic blankets, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere under the sun.

All donations raised during this event were dedicated to charity, showcasing the generosity and community spirit of the students and staff. The entire event was organized and run by the dedicated members of Nepean StudCo and the teachers of Nepean, who ensured everything ran smoothly and efficiently. This barbecue provided a fun and engaging break from the usual school routine that was much needed. Hopefully the success of this event leads to many more barbecues in the future.
