Since we’re getting closer and closer to the Winter break, I thought it would be fitting to share a recipe for a dessert that I always love making during the holidays: shortbread cookies! They’re perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth and providing something for your family to immediately demolish (especially if your family’s anything like mine—they won’t even last a day). Below are the ingredients you’ll need and the instructions you’ll have to follow in order to make these delicious sweets. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
2/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
2 cups flour
Sprinkles (optional but encouraged)
Instructions:
Beat the butter until light and fluffy.
Add the brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Gradually stir in the flour.
Knead the dough well, then chill it for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters.
Decorate with sprinkles if you so choose.
Bake for 18-20 minutes on an ungreased baking sheet.
Makes two dozen cookies.
