Spring has sprung!
Flowers start to bloom, warm weather approaches, and the world regains its natural beauty. We all seem to feel the cloud of seasonal depression start to lift. In light of these seasonal changes we wanted to highlight some activities to help keep that newfound joy and joie de vivre alive!
What’s better than a walk outdoors? Whether it’s a quick 2 minute stroll, or a 2 hour hike, walks outside are proven to improve mental, physical, and emotional health! Next time you have a couple moments to spare, grab your shoes, and maybe a friend, and then get walking!
Want to give back to our wonderful world? How about you plant some seeds! It can be any type of seed; flowers, fruits, saplings, whatever you can find! Since it's still a little chilly, you can start by pre-planting in a pot inside of your house. Watch your tiny plant sprout, then watch it grow! When spring is in full swing, you can transplant your seedlings into the ground outside! In summer, your plant will be beautiful, strong, and help pollinators!
Make a new friend! I know this sounds odd, but as spring dawns, many creatures are emerging from their winter homes looking for food… and maybe even a friend. Since food is scarce right after winter, you can help support our furry friends. Squirrels could be a good candidate, but we suggest looking for a chipmunk! Toss out a few sunflower seeds, or maybe some peanuts, and before long you will be able to hand feed your new best friend! Side note: be careful though, rodents can carry harmful diseases! Maybe it’s best to keep a little bit of distance between you and your new buddy.
And now you have a bucket list to complete before spring is over! We hope that you can find an activity that brings you some joy during this season! Happy Spring!
