We are coconut group, I'm Leo and this week I'm the star. To create the PLE we have used a VENN diagram and to divide the applications into three different sections.
"A Venn diagram uses overlapping circles or other figures to illustrate the logical relationships between two or more sets of elements."
They are often used to organize things graphically, highlighting how items are similar and different.
The individual is responsible for his or her own learning, so the learning environment (PLE) we have designed will always be under construction as it will evolve according to our needs.
For this week's presentation we had to create our own PLE and make a reflection to see the differences that we had as group members. Divided into the following sections
Tools forced to use
Prezi
Padlet
Tools that have been discovered
Canva
Storyboard
Miro
Tools that have been used before
Google drive
Powerpoint
Edmodo
What does the PLE consist of?
"A PLE is a set of tools, information sources, connections and activities that everyone uses to learn. It is not about applications that are used in isolation but a learning approach. It´s divided in 3 different sections":
Access to information
Creation and edition of information
Relation with other people
APPLICATIONS:
INSTAGRAM: We have all used this application, it is a tool that we usually use from the mobile, although sometimes we have used the computer, we use it constantly at home, in class, in the room, outside the faculty, bus and others. We use it to read other people's content, write to other people, create audios, videos and images... To access the tool, you need to have the application on your mobile phone, but you can also use it from the browser on all devices, by registering or logging in. When using this application, I think that the way in which we use it does not vary or is not conditioned by the place or device used, the use of this application will almost always be intended for the same purpose, for now and in our case.
POWERPOINT: It is a presentation tool that is used to transmit a message by means of slides, it is free. Our answers have been very different because some of us have a different use for it. For example, Maria uses an older version of powerpoint so she does not have some of the newer updates that enable many new features. She has more limitations in terms of the typography of the lettering and templates. On the other hand, Cesar does have one of the latest versions that allows him to have many more resources when making the presentation. We all agree that it is more comfortable to use it from a computer although I have used it from a tablet but it is much more uncomfortable.
EDMODO: It is an application that gives you the opportunity as a teacher to have your class virtually nearby. Both for mobile and computer it works well but however the computer interface is much better. It is used by teachers to create activities, forums, upload photos, videos, texts or any resource. The application does not vary in the place where it is used but it does vary in space because in class it is not usually used as much as outside the home since this application is used or according to our experience using it is used to be able to work and do activities from home. I remember that when we did the rubric in the previous task was one of the tools that best results in many facets (functionality, privacy ...).
GOOGLE DRIVE is an app that we normally use to share a document in which all the members of the group contribute information, paste images, videos or articles that make our work easier. This app has been essential, we use it in all the tasks, we use it in class and at home almost always and sometimes in other places of the faculty. We use it both from the mobile and from the computer and often from the application, although sometimes from the web. Enrique, María and I use this app with the mobile phone and also with the laptop, while Leo and César use it only with the laptop. As it is a tool that we are using every week we all have the app, although sometimes we use it on the browse. We all use it in class and in our bedroom, however, César and María also use it around the faculty, and Leo sometimes use it in other places of his house.
STORYBOARD is an application that we have only used for a specific task, where we had to create a comic. It is a very good app to create stories, but we no longer use it, it is not used to share information between us or to carry out other types of work. We always used it from our computer since it is practically impossible to use it on mobile, and always in the classroom or at home. We all accessed this app from the web. It is the only tool that we all use on the same device because in general we do not use tablets and it is an application that cannot be used with a mobile phone. We all use it from a laptop, however, César and I normally use it at home or around the university, Enrique and María use it mainly at home and in class and Leo uses it in his bedroom and in the class, but he never uses it around the faculty or in other place of his house. All the members of the group use this tool in the browse, anyone has the app.
CANVA is an app that we have used in several different jobs in order to create a series of slides which we used to support us to make a presentation. The use of this app has allowed us to develop our creativity as we have used different types of images, text, colors, etc. In order to make our work very striking and entertaining presentations with just the right information to help with the explanation, you can also work on it together in real time so we have had a lot of ease when using it. Canva can be used in different places and also in different devices. In my case I use it everytime in the computer because I think is the best way I can create content correctly and in the easiest way but for example María uses it in the mobile phone because she finds other advantages on doing that and she finds it more comfortable.
MIRO is another application which we have used in tasks that required the creation of a diagram or mindmap. This application has provided us with enough resources as well as facilities to create diagrams, branches, text boxes... as well as the implementation of images to make it more eye-catching. It is an intuitive application with a simple interface to create any type of diagram. We all have use it in the laptops because is the best way to create mindmaps thanks to the big screen and the facility on using a kwyboard and a mouse instead of using a tactile screen because is a little bit more difficult. We have used it in class and Miro was an app where we find ourselves very comfortable thanks to the interface and the easy use it has.
PADDLET: Somewhere between a doc and a full-fledged website builder, Padlet empowers everyone to make the content they want, whether it's a quick bulletin board, a blog, or a portfolio. In this application almost all the members of the group have agreed. This is because it is not an application that we often use to develop our work, but rather we use it to publish them for the Wednesday presentation. That is why we use this tool mainly to read the contents that our colleagues publish and to send audios, photos and videos. We use this tool both at home and in the classroom to be able to publish our work in advance. We are aware that the tool offers a mobile phone version. However, we are more accustomed to using the computer. Its functionality seems to us simpler and faster. That is why none of the group uses the application with the mobile phone.
PREZI: It is a web page that is used as a presentation tool for the exchange of ideas, either free-form or structured. Text, images, videos and other media are placed on the canvas, and can be grouped into frames.1 Users then designate the relative size, position among all objects in the presentation and how they will move, creating a mind map. This tool allows us to work with it in an infinite number of jobs, although the most important thing and the reason why we started using it this semester was to send citations. Its interface is much simpler if used from a computer although several of my colleagues also use it in the mobile version because you can zoom and write text very easily. As for the space where we use it, we all agree. We use the tool at home when we perform the role of curator in our blog to be able to put there all the citations we have used at work.
