We are coconut group and we have selected the spider diagram because we think its the one that best suits with our work. It allow us to have the two main ideas with a main idea middle and lines that branch out to add more insights or connected ideas.
TPACK ( technological pedagogical and content knowledge ) is a concept based on the set of three different domains that are technology , content and pedagogy. The aim of tpack is to make these domains complement each others in order to support better teaching and effective technological integration
Those pictures express perfectly the three domains and the relation between them. So the first picture is technology (the ability to use computers, laptop software etc) . The other circle is about knowledge ( languages , arts , social studies ). And the last circle is about the Pedagogy ( how to teach )
all the elements included in the tpack are related to each other. First the TC is when you use the technology to support your knowledge about something . Also exists the TP is the way that we use the technology to support our way of teaching. Last but not least the PCK pedagogical and context ( the effective way to teach that specific knowledge) .
TPACK would be useful for us because it is an effective way of implementing technology and content knowledge. It makes learning more efficient and engaging, and it is essential for us because as teachers, we should be able to make the content knowledge (theory students must know), pedagogical content (methodologies, objectives, competences) and ICTs (which are becoming more and more important in our society) interact and complement each other, in order to benefit the development of the children.
The TPACK concept was very criticized because many authors think that this concept cant be used in the same way with people with different age . Because of that, they included an interlined circle that means the context that you use tpacks concept
Finally I would like to add a bit of reflection about that . That year and the last two years the education has been affected by the pandemic and that's pick up the pace of using technology in the classroom . Tpack would be useful for us because it is an effective way of implementing technology and content knowledge , in order to benefit the development of the childrens.
ACAD (The activity- centered analysis and design framework) was developed in order to analyze and to design a structure of complex learning environments. The essential ACAD elements are the analysis, the design and the activity, which is situated in the center of the framework (is the core) and it includes feeling, moving, making, thinking, perceiving, taliking. (what people do). The design is really important to elaborate the activity because it must be physically (set design, the way that we organize the physical aspect (materials, tolos like visual thinking tools…), epistemically situated (adjust the task) and socially situated (collaboration, cooperation, division of labor, roles…)The final instructional dimensión is the activity which is emergent and this happen when all the dimensions interact. And emergent activity is a mediator between the task and the intended learning outcomes. This mediator is needed to reach the intended learning outcomes.
The analysis of the complex learning environment is also essential because we have to be aware that the activity is useful and effective, and also the design must be the most adequate for realizing the task.
TPACK and ACAD are related because they create an environment that allows students to learn. To make all the elements of TPACK ( content knowledge, pedagogical content and technological content) interact, we need to design and to analyze activities which can help the students to achieve the expected outcomes.
Is there any critical part of the Teacher's action that hasn't been included in the TPACK-ACAD model yet?
The role played by a teacher in a classroom is very complex to understand, since to prepare an activity must be able to interpret what their students need when it comes to acquiring new knowledge. The TPACK-ACAD is a model which explains in a certain way the process that teachers carry out when developing their activity, trying to adapt it to the contents and explain it effectively. Even so, it cannot explain all the work of the teacher since it goes far beyond the academic, the personal matters a lot, the people to whom this concept of learning is applied. Somehow TPACK-ACAD cannot be used in all environment.
Is TPACK-ACAD sufficient to understand a teacher's job?
Primary education is very complex and it is difficult to ensure that a theory can cover all the needs of a class. TPACK and ACAD can explain almost everything that we coule know about the role of a teacher. However, the different characteristics that each class have and the contexts that condition the teacher's performance are not taken into account.
