As for the performance of the star, in this case, I had to make a brief explanation about the rubric that we have created together thanks to the sharing that we have done with another group of the class to put together the most important aspects when evaluating two roles such as the star and the facilitator.
In the explanation that I made in front of 3 different groups, it was useful for them to know what points we have taken into account and how we have done to create the feedback that we will give them later on.
PRESENTATION:
The first rubric is the star rubric where we have created 4 different criteria to take into account. These criteria are "Originality", "Present the information", "Adaptation" and "Search and prepare the content".
To evaluate each criterion we concluded that it would be better to divide it into 3 different levels which are "Poor" "Enough" and "Good".
As far as originality is concerned, the aspects that would score the worst would be whether the star did a job without innovation and without fresh ideas as well as repeating many concepts in an unoriginal way and what would score the highest would be whether the star presents the information by combining it with new, original ideas and is able to take into account other data in order to go beyond the standard.
Then in "Present the information" it would be a poor job if the star does not manage to explain and present the studied information correctly, does not link the required contents and his/her speech is very difficult to follow, however, on the contrary it would be a good job if he/she is able to provide the content and information in a clear way as well as express him/herself fluently and communicate the knowledge perfectly.
In "Adaptation" mainly the two different sides of the coin would be if the star always works out of time and does not relate well to the classroom environment and does not adapt or does not manage to follow the steps that the task asks for or if on the contrary he/she performs these same activities perfectly and manages to adapt clearly to all these aspects.
Finally in "Search and prepare the content" we want to evaluate generally whether the star has studied and prepared the content for the presentation and added extra information or whether he/she has not prepared enough information to understand the content.
Here we have our Star's rubric (The final one that we created having into account the first 2 rubrics of both groups):
The second rubric has been developed for the role of the "facilitator", this rubric is exactly the same as the one for the star, but the criteria we have taken into account here are the following:
"Direction and leadership" where we see whether or not the facilitator has the ability to keep the group working on what it should and whether or not he/she is able to keep it under control as well as whether or not he/she manages to guide and orient those participants who are not concentrating on the task or if he/she does not manage to do so.
In "Motivation and Encouraging class" we evaluate whether the facilitator fails to create a motivating environment in which he/she engages the rest of the participants to carry out the task in the right way or whether he/she manages to motivate each of the colleagues and involves them in the task.
The next criteria is "Mediation and Communication" where the most important thing is whether the facilitator is capable of resolving conflicts or doubts that may arise between group members or if he does not maintain harmony in the group in addition to creating or not a friendly and healthy.
Lastly, in "Update the Blog/Instagram" we check if the facilitator uses and reads the content of the posts published by colleagues and, most importantly, updates their content in these tools on a regular basis or if, on the contrary, they do not use them. tools or uses them very superficially and at the wrong time.
Here we have the Facilitator's rubric (The final one):
MY EXPERIENCE OF BEING THE STAR:
As my own experience as been the star, the fact of performing and carrying out this role in this task has seemed like a great experience to me, since I find it super interesting that each group performs a different rubric to evaluate the roles that the rest of the classmates carry out taking into account the points that we take into account the most and give the most importance to, and later we put our rubrics in common with another group to conclude in a single rubric which we created from sharing the ideas and methods of a each group. This has made us reflect a lot about the ideas each one developed and to share ideas from every participant in order to take the best information and data to collect and design the method to evaluate the rest.
Once this final and common rubric has been made, when presenting how we have created it and what for to the rest of the group (which were 3 of them) it has been something that I quite liked because I find it interesting to let the rest of the group know the components we are going to evaluate taking into account our own criteria. It has also been gratifying how the colleagues have listened and have been interested in my explanation to know how we are going to study the work and posts in the blogs they do and have had an attitude of respect and reflection on our work.
