The first part of Task 7 was the Task Exploration with Coding and Digital Computational Thinking. What we needed to do in this task was to test at least three activities from this website: https://hourofcode.com/us/gb/learn.
We had to choose all three of those classified in Grades 2 to 5 and choose at least one to use in bad Internet conditions or not, and another with no computers or devices; the third had no further requirements. Then, after trying the games, we had to answer some questions, with the information from the different websites. The second part of task 7, tried to make a radio program, as well as a new way of conceptualizing and communicate ideas. In the podcast, we had to do an interview with Jorge MartĂnez, the star of the Puzzle Team, and while another group did another with our colleague Enrique. In the podcast we also attach some of our experiences, playing the games and stories and also a reflection about these new games and the importance of children playing them and knowing them, as well as everything that these can bring them in your future.
These have been some of the games that we have used, and that we have talked about in the podcast. In this activity I think that both my groupmates and I agree that we have worked in a very organized and orderly manner, because we have divided the work and at the same time we have complemented each other with all the different steps of the task. We have all participated in the podcast and we have helped each other with the doubts of each one. We have learned the different coding games and how they were used since many of us had never played them and we have also used and learned from the different applications to record a podcast.
I think it has been a very interesting task and an opportunity to learn how to make a podcast, I think that the best part of the activity has been recording the podcast together since we have had a lot of fun and we have all worked together, on the other hand What we liked the least was asking the questions of the games, since it is the task more of writing and less of interacting with each other. I think that as a group, we have worked very well, there are things that we can improve but at the same time many others that we have improved and we continue to do so little by little.
This task is connected with others, since it is based on games to learn, learning by playing is a very important technique since it will help children to develop in the cognitive and affective field, it will also help them with the assimilation of theoretical thoughts, the children need to be active to grow and develop their abilities, in addition, the game is fundamental for them, for the learning and integral development of these, since they learn from life by playing.
Working together on this activity we have realised that these programming games are very important for children, for their development and for their learning. In short, it is a task that we liked very much and that we found very interesting, a bit complex at the same time, but very useful for the children's learning in these areas.
