Good morning, my name is Jorge and I'm going to present the comic we, the coconut group, have made. We have decided to do our Modern comic using storyboard, we have done a cover where the characters of the story appear, and 8 scenes where the main ideas of the text by Lemke are involved.
First we have created our characters and we have thought about the style of our comic, then we have developed in an entretaining story where our characters are doing an activity related with the Lemke's text and, finally, we have decorated the comic emphazasing the aspects of a Modern comic.
This story is about a group of students who go to see an interactive film and, later, they do a reflective work about it in groups. As you can see, in one of the scenes they are using an app on the mobile phone while they are wayching the film, so they are learning through texts and visual images, and in the last scene the group of students is going to collaborate using technology to think and reflect about the film they have watched.
In this comic we are trying to show through a short story an unusual activity in which our characters are actively learning using technology, and developing their critical thinking.
CRITERIA OF THE DIFFERENT COMICS: for our group the best work has been the puzzle team, they have worked hard despite the fact that their task was complex and the activity has been fantastic, with a lot of originality and they have managed to establish a relationship between lemke's text and superpowers. Then we also really liked the work of Study Buddies, the design was very original and the plot was very good as well, the comic model was difficult and they have managed to do it very well. We also liked the Potential Teachers comic a lot, the design of the hieroglyphs is very original and we believe that it is very interesting for people who really like ancient Egypt. As for the other works, the one of the tinki winkis was very clear and conceptual, the work of see you on Tuesday also seemed very original and quite laborious since they even burned the edges of the cardboard, it was very realistic and fun . We also liked the Wild Cats work since it was quite clear and conceptual and finally the ICTeachers, the work was also very nice and we really enjoyed their presentation.
I have really liked being the star in this specific task because it is entertaining to present a comic that our group has made to th rest of the class. It is true that it's a little bit tiring to present the work 6 times because you have to repeat all your speech again and again, but this is easier when you have to present a comic in 3 minutes. This type of presentation has advantages and disadvantages, you feel more comfortable doing it in small groups and they hear you better, however, you have to repeat the whole presentation a lot of times. I prefer this type of presentation but only when they are very short, I feel more relax and I do a better performance. Even so, I hope I can practice doing so many presentations so that I can improve my work.
