Leo Díaz Díaz - From my point of view this has been one of the best activities that we have done and that can serve us more in our future as teachers. The game based learning method is a way to integrate entertainment and learning in education. Having to design a game starting from 0 with all the creative process involved is very useful. This work serves as a tool for us in the future to be able to leave the conventional method of teaching and give a different dynamic to our classes. In Spain, education is not taken as seriously as it should be taken and the methodologies that are used are not adapted to the needs of this new society. As teachers it is essential to reinvent ourselves every day, to create, design, organize... That is why I think that the methodology used in this activity is perfect for that.
I think the hardest part of this activity has been to think about how to apply the game in reality. Since one thing is the idea and another how it works. Therefore, at the beginning we could find more problems to realize it but thanks to play it before we made some variations.
César Narros Martínez: Thanks to this task we have realized that education does not have to be as it has traditionally been, since the only thing it has brought with it has been school dropout, lack of interest, frustration and above all little learning.
We as teachers have the ability to change that, to build a better education where children want to be. This type of task gives us many resources for the future. One of the main virtues a teacher has to have is to be creative. This will make the learning experience much better for the children. You don't learn more the more boring the school is . Creativity has no barriers.
Enrique Nicolás Martínez: In this task about creating an educational game, I had to play the role of the journalist. Before performing what my own role specifically asks for, we focused at first on performing the task all together in order to represent the idea we had in the board game we wanted to create. In this activity we developed many ways and ideas for the game itself in order to make it playable, learnable and also provide fun and entertainment, that's why during the process we made many changes and added and removed things while testing the game to make everything perfect or as good as possible. We have achieved this also because the teacher allowed us time to test our project as well as provided us with ideas to implement and make it even better. As far as the journalist is concerned, I had to keep track of the whole process from the day we thought about how we were going to do the project through how we bought the different objects used in the game, how we designed the board, how we made the vignettes, the design of the box, the division of labor, etc.
This activity has allowed us to try and create an environment in which children learn effectively by providing information and knowledge through a fun way to make children enjoy and like to learn what they are doing. Thanks to the information that the teacher has given us about the task, the organization and the work we have done as a group we have ended up very happy with the result of this experience and we have learned many things during the process. We have to think more and more that we are the ones who are going to be in charge of having to perform different tasks so that the students can learn from different points of view and touching skills and methods of different types to improve that learning.
Overall this activity has been very useful to the whole group and the rest of the class and we are happy with the results of the classmates as well and with the objective of the task that the teacher tried to get us to acquire.
María Mansilla Jiménez- Alfaro:the task of creating a game together, has seemed to me the most fun of all, I think it has helped us a lot when it comes to knowing how to make a children's game, we have also put many questions about culture for children, so they will learn by playing. I think it is a very good didactic and that the children will be very entertained. When it comes to teaching children, through play, they will learn to forge links with others, and to share, negotiate and resolve conflicts, as well as contributing to their ability to assert themselves. In my case, I have been the star of this task, I was with the See you on Tuesday group, I was explaining the game and how it was played, and that's when we started playing. They liked it a lot and had a lot of fun, at the same time they learned about cultures and some of them worked as a team to win.
Jorge Nicolás Martínez: This is the first time I have played the analyst's role and I have to say that it is more complex than I thought. Reflecting is a very diificult task, however, it is essential in order to learn. Learning by doing refers to a theory of education expounded by American philosopher John Dewey. It's a hands-on approach to learning, meaning students must interact with their environment in order to adapt and learn. This role consists of reflecting and following the whole process of the work that your group is doing, so that you are able to understand what can be improved. As it appear in the Transversal activity, it is probably one of the most important roles of the assignment since the analyst is in charge of conducting the assignment reflection, paying special attention to the other roles’ contributions, analysing what aspects have been tackled, thinking about how they have worked and agreeing with his/her classmates a reflection about what they have learned. In this role I also have the responsibility to value the work my groupmates have done, it won't be difficult for me because I have been awared of the work they have realized each day and I'm going to be fair.
