The Gift of Wisdom is letting the Holy Spirit lead you in using your Knowledge. This gives you the ability to judge and direct human affairs according to divine truth. This gives God's guidance on how to live as a Christian.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.
-- Proverbs 9:10
This holy fear is filial fear, rather than servile fear of a slave from his/her master. It is the fear of losing or breaking the loving relationship with our Father.
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure,
then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits,
without inconstancy or insincerity.
James 3:17
Indeed, this Gift enables you to do these to build our Church.
…see with God’s eyes
…listen with God’s ears
…love with God’s heart
…speak with God’s Words
…judge with God’s judgment
St Paul simply teaches the early Christians in Corinth:
But as it is written: "What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,“ this God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit scrutinizes everything, even the depths of God.
-- 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
This Gift is seen working together with various and maybe even all Gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially Knowledge, Discernment, Prophecy.
We see God at work in our lives and in the world. For the wise person, the wonders of nature, historical events, and the ups and downs of our lives take on deeper meaning. The matters of judgment about the truth, and being able to see the whole image of God. We see God as our Father and other people with dignity. Lastly being able to see God in everyone and everything everywhere.
The Gift of Wisdom comes with the Gift of Obedience. Use the Wisdom of the Lord with unwavering obedience lest we fall short as Solomon did (2 Chronicles 1 and Deuteronomy 17:16).
For wisdom will enter your heart, knowledge will please your soul,
Discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you;
Proverbs 2:10-11
St John Paul the Great (St Pope John Paul II)
He wrote the Theology of the Body. It answers the basic questions of our existence. It serves as a compass in the midst of various temptations and confusion in our secular world.
He was instrumental in the fall of communism in Europe and an inspiration to the peaceful revolution in Poland.
St John Bosco
He is a great inspiration especially to the youth of his days until today. He used his charisms to bring people to the path of our Lord and to stronger faith. During his earthly life, he tirelessly helped and guided hundreds of youth in looking for work and lodging. He also guided and encouraged those who had the vocation to priesthood.
He used his Gifts of Discernment, Healing, Understanding, and more for the glory of God and our Blessed Mother Mary.
