Contraception is any action which in anticipation of the conjugal act or in its accomplishment, proposes to render procreation impossible. This is intrinsically evil.
Contraceptive acts include all forms of  sterilization, male and female condoms and other barrier methods, spermicides, coitus interruptus
[withdrawal method}, the pill and other related methods that sever the unitive and procreative significance inherent in the marital act.

Contraception is against the elements of the marriage commitment:

Free :     To say that love is free means to accept the other without conditions. Contraception places a condition within the marriage.
Total:     Contracepted intercourse says “ I give myself to you totally except my fertility.
Faithful: Fidelity cannot remain compatible with violations of freedom, total self-gift and openness to children.
Fruitful: Sex with contraception violates the procreative aspect of the sexual union.

contraception have had bad effects on woman’s health?

Birth control pills have proven to show harmful side effects such as:

• Spotting between periods or menstrual bleeding due to the elimination of the disintegrated uterine lining

• Headaches due to increased level of cortisol in the body

• Bloating due to estrogen

• Low thyroid and testosterone levels resulting in weight  gain, depression, constipation, skin dryness, memory loss

• Nausea, breast cancer, mood changes, blood clots, decreased libido and yeast infections have also been reported as side effects on the use of the pill.

Did you know that...
natural family planning is acceptable in spacing births?

NFP is in keeping with the free, total, faithful and fruitful commitment of the conjugal act. Periodic abstinence is in accord with God’s plan. Abstaining from intercourse is not contraceptive.
