The Gift of Faith is always present in all Gifts. It is by your total trust and surrender to the Lord that the Holy Spirit dwells in you and works through you.
For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.
For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.
-- 2 Timothy 1:6-8
This Gift draws you nearer to the knowledge and understanding of Divine Truth and its mysteries. This Gift gives you hope and strength in living out what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
The spiritual ability to see what isn't seen, believe it to be, and trust God to do it in His way and time.
Faith is a covenant relationship.
Believe God without doubt no matter what happens.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
For by it, the men of old received divine approval.
-- Hebrews 11:1-2
that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
-- 1 Corinthians 2:5
For with God, nothing will be impossible.
-- Luke 1:37
For in it, the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "He who through faith is righteous shall live."
-- Romans 1:17
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
-- James 1:5-6
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
-- Isaiah 43:2
I can do all things who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
Job
The life of Job, as written in the Scriptures, is perhaps the easiest to relate to our challenges today. He experienced loss of wife, children, property, health, reputation, and even friends. Yet he remained steadfast and faithful that God will deliver him. God later blessed him much more. He would not have endured those sufferings had he not been blessed with extraordinary faith, knowledge, understanding, and fortitude.
St Teresa of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta)
Facing poverty, she helped the poorest of the poor in Kolkata. She solicited and provided food for the needy, nursed the sick, and inspired other people to join her vocation. Her faith and love were manifested in all her works. She knew then that God would provide for everything she needed to serve the poor.
St. Genevieve
When Attila and his army of Huns came upon Paris, the Parisian Christians were prepared to run, but Genevieve spoke to them and convinced them to stay within their homes, fast and pray to the Lord. She assured them they would have the protection of Heaven. Her prediction came true as Attila suddenly changed his path and turned away from Paris.
