Keeping Items Together On A Page
Insert an Image: Upload or select your image.
Open the Menu: Double-click the image to open its editing toolbar.
Add the Anchor: Click the three dots (More) and select Add Caption.
Type: Your text is now "anchored" to the bottom of that image. They are now officially grouped
Sometimes you need more than a tiny caption. You might need a full paragraph of instructions to "stick" to your image.
Insert a Text Box: Create a separate text box and type your detailed directions.
The Drag: Click and hold the handle (10 dots) at the top of that text box.
The Snap: Drag the text box directly onto your image.
Watch the Line: Look for a thick blue horizontal line to appear inside the border of the image.
Release: Now, the image, its caption, and your directions move as one single "block."
You can stack multiple text boxes (like a Heading and a Body) to keep them organized.
Position: Have your two text boxes ready.
The Snap: Drag the handle of the second box into the first one.
The Result: The blue highlight will glow inside the first box, fusing them together
Step 4: The "Shortcut": Using Content Blocks
Once you understand how to "Snap" items manually, you can use Content Blocks to save time.
Found in the Insert menu, these are pre-made "Manual Groups."
They come with images and text boxes already "snapped" together in professional layouts.
Note: Even in a Content Block, you can still drag extra text boxes into the group using the manual "Snap" method above!
Mobile-Ready: It ensures "Instructions" stay next to the "Example" when a student scrolls on a phone.
Easier Editing: Move one group instead of four separate pieces.
Professional Look: Grouped items share a background. Click the Section Colors (Palette icon) to give the entire group a shaded background to make it "pop."
"It won't stay!" Ensure the blue line is inside the target box. If the line is between boxes, they will remain separate.
"How do I Ungroup?" Click the specific item inside the group and drag its handle far away until the blue highlight disappears.
"My text is too narrow!" A text box grouped under an image will match the image's width. Resize the image first, and the text will follow.
Before you move to the next part of your site, perform this quick 5-second test to make sure your grouping "took":
Select the Group: Click the top item in your group (usually the image).
Move the Group: Drag it just an inch or two in any direction.
The Result: Success: If the text boxes and captions follow the image as if they are glued to it, you have successfully Grouped them!
If the image moves and the text stays behind, they are still "independent." Try the Snap again, making sure the blue line appears inside the box.
The "Phone View" Check: Click the Preview (Eye icon in Edit View) and select the Phone icon. If your image and text are still touching, your students will be able to follow your lesson perfectly!
"If it doesn't move as a group, it won't display as a group!"
