Add Lines, Paths, and Shapes To The Map
Add paths or lines to your tour:
These directions are for adding paths when using a computer or Chromebook
Open Google Earth.
On the left, click Projects .
Click, "Create A Project," or open a project you've been working on
Just above the map, click on "Draw Link or Shape" icon. It looks like a jagged line (Image 1 below)

Click where you want to start a line or path on the map.
Click "enter" where you want the line or path to end, or double click the end point You will have one straight line. This line can be edited - changed, added to, or shortened.
A sidebar opens which allows you to choose color and thickness of the line. You can also name it.
To change or edit the line, click on the line and notice the white circles. You can drag these circles to bend the line. You can also add more points to the line so that you can create more bends in the line. Add more circles by clicking on the line.
To move around, drag the map or click Zoom In or Zoom Out .
Under “Untitled Path,” add a name for the path or line, if you wish.
Under “Add to project,” click the Down arrow and select or add a project folder.
To delete the line/path, find it in the editing window (project details panel), and click the Trash icon.

You can also create filled shapes in Google Earth
Use the path/line tool and draw a shape. For example, students may wish to outline a country or state.
Be sure to connect the starting and ending point to enclose the shape.
Use the side toolbar to choose the shape outline and fill colors.
Notice that you can also make the fill more or less transparent.
In the editing window (project details panel), choose the outline and fill colors.
You can also change the width of the line.
